Bio Photo I am an avid genealogist. I work on mine and my husbands tree for several hours every day. I love walking cemeteries and photographing while we walk. I love this website.

I can't believe how many rude people there are as contributors on this site. I have gotten nasty I mean REALLY NASTY emails. I am not that way!

I am here to help in any way I can. I will transfer memorials as long as you know more about the person than I do and I'm not related to them at all or as close as you are.

PHOTOS: You may use any photo I post to FAG as long as you give me the credit. You do not need to ask for permission. I believe they are meant to be shared. That's why I take them.

Irvin and Beatrice Vanderau
Hi Gail,

I grew up in Chamberbsurg but now live a hour away. I often go to Chambersburg to do research and photograph graves. I was in Chambersburg briefly today and got some plot numbers for Norland cemetery from the spread sheet at the historical society.

Irvin's is C89, but Beatrice was not listed. I will try to photograph Irvin's in the near future. he is buried in the same section as my grandparents and it is a smaller section, so I should be able to find it easily. I assume Beatrice is buried with him and was overlooked when the spread sheet was typed.

Ruby Gill Hogue
The info on findagrave is very confusing. Isn't
Ruby Gill the sister of Mellie Gill not her daughter. I have Ruby as Oscar Gill's daughter.
Am I correct or is this wrong?
Please help. Thanks!!

RE: William thomas Blythe photo

First, you did not offend me. I get your original comment quite often. The problem with some of the older cemeteries is their lack of names on the older plots. It confuses several people.

As for your comment about not having much information on the spouses of William Blythe, apparently he had two spouses, Jenne Hoffer Blythe, and Johanna Roche Blythe. William had two known children with Johanna; Joseph Alfred Blythe and Charles Augustus Blythe. Johanna died at the age of 30 in 1888. I have no other information on Williams.

According to your original statement "It lists Charles A, Ida Boudraux, Thomas C, and Patricia. Non of theses names are him or have anything to do with him."

Charles A Blythe was the son of William T., and Charles was married to Ida Boudreaux. Thomas C and Patricia Edwards were the children of Charles, making them the grandchildren of William.

I hope this clarifies some information for you.

RE: William thomas Blythe photo

When I take photos I include everybody listed as buried at that particular grave site, according to cemetery records. It is often the case that not all names appear on a headstone, as it was in this case.

If you will note, the burial dates of both Jenne and William Blythe are in the early 1930s. It is possible that the original headstone was damaged, lost, replaced, or never existed. This is quite common at some of the older cemeteries in the New Orleans area.

According to his obituary, he is the husband of Jenne Hoffar Blythe, and the father of Charles Augustus Blythe. It makes sense that he would be buried at that grave site.

When I have a name on the headstone my photo will include the grave, headstone, and individual name. When the name does not appear I will provide a photo of the grave only.

According to cemetery records, the following people are buried at 10 Laurel Rose Metairie:

First Middle Last Name Suffix Age Date of Burial

Patricia Claire Edwards 30 04/28/1959
Thomas C. Blythe Sr. 72 03/07/1983
Jenne E. Blythe 04/15/1930
William F. Blythe 86 02/22/1931
Charles A. Blythe 67 01/21/1945
Ida Mary Blythe 72 02/02/1961

I hope this helps.

RE: George Holsinger
That's pretty cool. My grandmother, Ruby Stout was born to George and Minnie Holsinger. She has three siblings who are still living. I know that two of them are at least 90. There is a Holsinger Family book. Do you have one? I appreciate the work you've done.

Hi Gail, I was showing one of my children around Lindsay Strathmore Cemetery today. Upon looking up my great grandfather on Find A Grave in an effort to, well, find his grave, I noticed there was a picture of him uploaded! Imagine my surprise! I checked other family members, but there are no pictures of them. It appears you are the one who posted it. Are you related?

William Nelson Clark 102404940

William Nelson Clark is actually buried with his wife and daughter in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, DC. This per his obituary in the 6 Dec 1946 edition of the Evening Star Newspaper (DC).

The marker in the Bellevue Cemetery is a cenotaph. Find A Grave guidelines suggest leaving this memorial and putting a notice, including the other memorial number, in his bio stating where he is actually buried. His memorial in Rock Creek is 168954759.

BTW , thanks again for all the great efforts you make to keep updated the Bellevue Cemetery where most of my folks are buried.
