Harrison C. Hays
Hi Vince. Been a while since we were in touch. Hope you are well.

I'm working on my Hays side of the family now and the records I've found show Harrison's birth year to be 1827 rather than 1822. The date on his tombstone also looks like 1827 to me. Since the 1870 census says he was 43, that also points to a birth year of 1827.

Can you give me the location of his tombstone in the cemetery? I will be visiting again soon and can also check out the date.

Harrison was my great-great grandfather; my grandfather was his son, George Franklin. How are you related?

Thanks.

Hi Vince,
I'm seeking info. about the descendants of Joel E. Barham, who several of his children lived in Lowndes County, Mississippi, and Lamar County, Alabama. I wonder if you could probably help me.

Photos on Catherine McDonald Lewis memorial
Could you please remove the photos of T. J. Lewis and his wife M Cornelia Lewis from the memorial of
Catherine McDonald Lewis #27958923? There are photos on their memorial and T.J.Lewis is only the step grandson of Catherine McDonald.(no real connection)

RE: Hays family
Vince a while back we corresponded re: the Hays family. Your note is below. I did send my address via direct email but I never got a copy of the bible and I'd very much like to! I'm happy to pay the postage and copy costs. I'd like to collaborate on the Hays family as I have very little past my great grandmother who was Sarah Margaret Hobbs Hays "Sally". I will send the address and my email again. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!

Your note:

The Booster
Purvis, Lamar County, Mississippi, Friday, June 22, 1956
Mrs. S. J. Bond Dies After Short Illness.
The death of Mrs. Shepherd J. Bond of Purvis came as a shock to a host of friends and loved ones. Mrs. Bond who was 67, had been ill for about a week and death came at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Purvis at three o'clock Thursday afternoon and interment was in the Purvis cemetery. A host of those who grieved for her gathered at the church and the flowers and the friends attest to the love and esteem in which Mrs. Bond and her excellent family have been held through the years.
Mrs. Bond was a member of a prominent family of this area and was a native of the Purvis community. Before her marriage to Mr. Bond she was Miss Ella Avery.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, C. C. Bond and Barnett Bond of Purvis, Carl Bond of Meridian and Astor Bond of Hempstead, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Verbon Cox of Purvis, Mrs. Hoye Buckley of Baton Rouge, La., and Mrs. Harold Lippincott of Hattiesburg and a number of grandchildren.

William Bryant Messer
In the picture of William B Messer and family on his memorial #67956815, do you know the names of the people in the photo?. I am trying to find information on their daughter, Emma Messer. She married Willy Ivison and had three children. Is it possible she is in the photo?
Thank you for any help.
