RE: Sexton Records for Provident Cemetery
Hi Barry, email me your address and I will gladly send it to you. Let me know if there are any others.
I have a family member that does cemetery digging and has more connections than I can could ever imagine. A real treasure when I need info :)

RE: Isabella
Thanks for the correction, I will make a note for the Sexton's Record Book so they can correct it. They must of added the name wrong in the "maiden" name. I really do appreciate the information Barry.

RE: Pamela Kieffer 146414856
Yes. Her first husband was Bill Long (with kids Timothy & Lisa). Her second husband was Louis Kieffer (married in 1976).

RE: Pamela Kieffer 146414856
Thanks for being diligent. I would too.
1) Her obituary said her son Timothy Long and daughter Lisa Long survived.
2) You can see by the Find A Grave photo that she is buried next to Timothy W. Long.
3) The Social Security Applications and Claim Index from 1936-2007 shows her name as Pamela Marie Long.
4) The Find A Grave Memorial# 103722975 for Timothy W. Long shows his parents as Bill Long and Pamela Gray. He was born in 1966, so this was her first marriage (assuming they were married).

BTW, Pamela's obituary shows her nickname as "Penny". She was born in Wisconsin, daughter of Eldon and Bernice (Fillbach) Gray. She died at Gray's Nursing Home in Platteville, Wisconsin.

Martin Witzig #144548964
Hi, Martin and Anna are my 4 great grandparents. You have Martin's memorial in the Hillside cemetery in Lancaster, WI. According to his son Frank's bio that is posted, Martin was buried in Highland, Wisconsin. I have also checked the Hillside cemetery records and the only Witzigs located in Hillside are Charles and Mary. I am unsure what cemetery in Highland he would be located. I will try to do a little more research and see if we can't figure out where he remains. Thanks for all of your efforts on Find A Grave.

Cheers,
Kerin

RE: Catherine Pedelty Miller 96384196
Yes, that is where I found that info.

Milner, Ralph

b. 06 Jul 1819
Gunnerside
d. 05 May 1888
New Diggings, Wisconsin, USA
m. Pedlety, Catharine
20 Feb 1844
Grinton
d. 26 Nov 1912

Milner, Nannie

b. 1845
d. 1872
m. Raisbeck, Jonathon

The census at Melbecks shows Nannie in the family.
MILNER Ralph/Head/M/31/Lead miner/Yks/Lodge Green
MILNER Catherine/wife/M/25/Lead miner's wife/Yks/Low Row
MILNER Ann/dau/5/scholar/Yks/Lodge Green
MILNER Mary/dau/2/Yks/Lodge Green
MILNER Elizabeth/dau/2m/Yks/Lodge Green

http://dalesgenealogy.com/census/melbecks_51.html

But the 1880 census in New Diggings with Miller gives a much younger Nannie Raisbeck, born about 1871. Could be a granddaughter? She is not their child.
Yes, a mystery!

RE: Catherine Pedelty Miller 96384196
The daughter of Catherine and Ralph Milner was Nanny Milner Raisbeck. Find A Grave Memorial# 49993765. She is at Primative Methodist Church in Benton. Unfortunately, like her mother's stone, the name is Miller rather than Milner. I wonder if they actually changed the name or if the relatives did not know the correct name.

Here is what I know about Ralph:

Ralph Milner

Birth 06 JUL 1819 Gunnerside, North Yorkshire, England

Death 05 MAY 1888 New Diggings, Lafayette, Wisconsin, USA

The website for Yorkshire Dales Families is http://spensley.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=spensley&view=9&ver=46632. If you request an invitation, you can then sign in to access all the information on the site, which is fabulous. Christine Amsden is very careful about documenting family relationships from primary records.

Another excellent website with census info and ship rosters is http://dalesgenealogy.com/

I wonder if there are any local family members that would know about Ralph. There are so many Raisbecks in Benton!
