RE: Provident Cemetery Sextant records
Hi Barry, I had the books transferred to a thumb drive & mailed copies of the book with the it to you a few weeks ago. Not received? I did make myself copies & can redo for you... wonder where the package is???
Let me know I can send it Fex-Ex so we have a better tracking if you would rather too.

RE: Holman Family, Cornwall
Hi Barry,
I have just seen a few 'Transfers', I thank you for doing so as it will make it easier in building the links and details for them.
Keep well, good hunting,

RE: Holman Family, Cornwall
Hi Barry,
Thank you for your message, my pleasure to meet you so to speak.
I arrived at them in moving through my FT, they are a little remote at this point being i.e. Nicholas (b. 1777) is the great-grandfather of the husband of my 2nd cousin 4x removed.
But, Nicks Mum was Mary Reed. I have a number of Reed family in my direct line. I continue to find multiple links with families that are initially out at a distance, some I discover are actually much nearer as researching back in time they connect into my DL's.
As far as transfer goes, it depends on whether it is easier for you. There is plenty more to add, link or maybe amend as new records almost turn up daily.
I mentioned Maureen Martin had added a photo, she has told me she has more to add, but is not related or researching the Holman family, but lives nearby I think.
I do wish someone locally to any Cemetery would take up a project photographing the graves that remain thereby creating a record listing those at rest.
It can be a mission, I've done it, and after 2 years I'm still adding to them! Mind you I also created a Family Tree for those there. I found in doing this new links in our FT, and a picture of just how many of the families are linked, it was remarkable but it is a rural area.
Anyway, OK if you wish, I can always send them back to you!
Delbridge by the way is not a Surname I've yet come across. I have looked now and there are a fair few reported from the Cornwall OPC Database which can be accessed via: -
Tobias Md Mary Watts 27 Oct 1838 at Phillack (for an image of the actual entry in the Parish Record see
There are Baptisms in the OPC Dba for children to them but not for Mary. At Phillack for: -
1839 Richard
1840 John Gilbart
1852 George Watts
1854 Emma
1856 Prudence Caroline

You will find images of these in the groups listed under this link: -

I make these suggestions, of course you may already have these, in which case just ignore me!
ps. my email address if you prefer is
if you have not used any of the above I am happy to assist just drop me a line.

Eleanor Ellen Throup Cherry Anderson 96414411
I agree completely about using Anderson as her last name. She married Thomas Anderson more than 10 years after Cherry, and she had 5 children that I know of with Thomas:
Matthew Henry (b. 1865)
Margaret Ellen (b. 1867)
Joseph T. (b. 1870)
Walter (b. 1871)
Ellen Jane (b. 1873)

She is the mother-in-law of my 1st cousin 3x removed, so I don't really have any inside info, just what I have found through free sources. My Ancestry membership is not up to date, but they do give good hints.

Holman Family, Cornwall
Hi Barry,

Thank you for creating these memorials I initially wish to mention the Birth Date for Priscilla Holman Find A Grave Memorial# 119259788.
Maureen Martin (Contributor #47941538) has kindly added a close up of her memorial plate on the Family Site, this clearly states 5th November 1825. It has been entered as 11 May 1825 and I suspect this might be due to the difference in date configuration used between UK and USA.

Her Maiden Name was Miners, she being a Daughter of Capt. James Miners (Find A Grave Memorial# 134787659) and Mary (Nee Pollard) his wife (Find A Grave Memorial# 134787709) who had Md at St Kew on 19 June 1813.

Regarding her Death 7 August 1900; her probate record reads: - Holman, Priscilla of Camborne, Cornwall Widow Died 7 August 1900. Administration Bodmin 24 August to John Henry Holman Ironfounder Effects 291 14s 5d.
The Registration of this Death was made in the Redruth RD, so it appears she died within the UK.
I assume you must have information that suggests this to have occured at Johannesburg
Gauteng, South Africa but it is also stated that she was the wife of John Leonard Holman.

I suspect a mix up, as her Husband was John Holman (Find A Grave Memorial# 119259777), he being a Son of Nicholas Holman (17771862 Find A Grave Memorial# 119259787) and his wife Anne (Nee Harvey 17811876). Would they be inscribed on the plate behind the central pillar?
Maureen I think is local to the area I have enquired with her of this.

I am connected to them remotely though as Anne (Harvey) Holman is reported as the great-grandmother of husband of my 2nd cousin 4x removed.
I do however through research have much within my tree on the Holman's and will be submitting other update info and linkages.
It is too late this evening now but I shall also add memorials for 3 names known from this Family Memorial which are as yet not input on Find A Grave. When done in the interest of continuity would you like ownership of them?

I look forward to hearing from you, perhaps if you wish by email via

Thanks so much for your message about this headstone in the Johnsville Cemetery in Plumas. You are so right, the one I created in the Mohawk Cemetery was a mistake and a duplicate of one already in Find A Grave. I've deleted it. Appreciate your catching this and sending me the message. Sara
