We have been researching our family for about 30 years and have traveled to several states for genealogy. Many of our memorials are for "extended" family members, but others are not. We hope someone finds the information we post helpful in their own research.|
Except for those photos listed within our *Posted with Permission* virtual cem, every tombstone or cemetery photo we post was taken by us on the date indicated in the photo caption.

FIND A GRAVE PHOTO POLICY:
-- All contributor-posted photographs are intended for PERSONAL USE, unless stated otherwise. To comply with current Copyright Law, you SHOULD NOT post (and/or republish) any contributor's cemetery or tombstone photos elsewhere without permission.
-- As contributors retain the copyright on ALL photos that they have taken and posted, it is actually NOT acceptable to just indicate you took the photo from Find A Grave (since this site does not own the copyright to any of the contributor-posted photographs).

Regarding our cemetery and tombstone photographs, specifically...
-- We will allow most instances of unaltered OTHER USE, but with the added stipulation that you MUST provide a photo source citation (by referencing both "Find A Grave" [or www.findagrave.com] AND our profile name AND # in the Description) for any of our photographs taken from this website; for example, "Photo courtesy of Find A Grave Contributor: Law-Miller Roots (#47103448)".
-- Note that you can provide a link back to the Find A Grave memorial, instead of copying (i.e. Ancestry's built-in "weblinks" function can be used for this exact purpose). This option works quite well.
-- Please do not download and then republish any family portraits we post, as these come from private family collections. Some of these photos still enjoy copyright protection and are NOT in the public domain.

NOTE: If we've submitted a memorial that you want to make corrections to, or if you would like a memorial transferred (and we're not also related in some way) let us know via the Edit Tab and we'll take care of it asap.

|Donald Sigwalt||Maria Sarah "Polly" Shaffer Shiry|
I think many people have confused Mary 'Polly' Shaffer Shirey (Memorial# 35251869) with her older sister Maria Sarah Schaffer Albright. I believe the age listed on Polly's gravestone is correct. It is her sister, Maria Sarah who was born in Northumberland county in 1795.
Sarah (Memorial# 66230039) married John Albright and died in Ohio in 1794. Using the information on her gravestone you arrive at a birth date of April 3, 1795 which matches the Northumberland county church records.

I had previously reviewed the Robert Adams in Will Books, Vol 1-2, 1807-1861 and found this person to be Gawin Adams' son, not our Robert Adams. The year of this entry is 1838. Our Robert died in 1810. I also already had the other information you listed. There are now numerous people searching for Robert Adams 1753-1810 and we all are finding the same documents. Thanks for the information though. The hunt continues...

If we go by the dates on the marker, these cannot be his parents. Parental links deleted. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Burke
Find A Grave contributor Law-Miller Roots has made a suggestion to you regarding your Find A Grave memorial for Richard Dodson.

Just wondering about his dates 1762-1843. His father is listed as Thomas Dodson (1753-1818) #50103654 and his mother as Mehetabel Bixby (1760-1804) #50103688. Could you please check this for me?

You are most welcome. It looks good on the memorial, thank you-Marsha
|Bertha B. Buttner||RE: Christian Hess (1813-1854) # 64578842|
It helps some. It gives me his parents names but you seem to have given me the same information twice. So I have the birth record but not the marriage record.
Many thanks though for the birth record.
|Bertha B. Buttner||Christian Hess (1813-1854) # 64578842|
I was wondering if you have any additional information on Christian Hess
Find A Grave Memorial# 64578842
I am trying to confirm whether he was the husband of Elizabeth Reimel Hess b. 9 Feb 1814 and d. 27 Nov 1886. I do not know where she is buried. Also do not know if she possibly re-married.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Philip Reimel (1793-?) and Susan Morey Reimel (1791-1870)
Elizabeth Reimel Hess is my First cousin 4X removed through Jacob Reimel & Anna-Maria Beck Reimel.
I see there is another Christian Hess (Find A Grave Memorial# 14981189) buried in Old Union Cemetery but from reading the bio from him I do not see a connection to this Christian Hess.
Any information or help you can give me on this is greatly appreciated and I also understand if you don't have any.

That wasn't the marriage date, that was her birth, 1892. Family records give her birth date as 1892, her stone says 1891, so I just posted both,

|EKancestry1||RE: Jacob Thompson #72002992|
Yes, It took me a bit to get it figured out what was going on also. So what is happenning is
*You are managing 2 memorials for Jacob Thompson (72002992 & 72224854)
*You are managing 2 memorials for Caroline Thompson (72224871 & 129383798)
*Currently you have Caroline #72224871 (the memorial that was previously in Brookville Cemetery and is now moved to Saint John) linked as spouse with Jacob #72224854 (that is still located in the wrong Cemetery at Brookville)
Also you have Caroline #129383798 (in St. John Cemetery also) but have her linked to Jacob #72002992 (also in correct cemetery St. John)
*To throw an added kicker their kids are only linked to the jacob in the incorrect Cemetery. Their kids are 1. infant #72224892 and 2. Tillie #168840168
I would be glad to add photos to whichever Jacob and Caroline you decide to keep. Just let me know and I will get them added to whichever memorials you need. Hope that I helped clear it up instead of making it more confusing. whew. Hope it helps ;) EK
