You submitted request had Govan & Albert as Spouse 1. You can't have 2 first marriages. It would have to be spouse 1 & Spouse 2, etc.

RE: Carolina Aultman
Hi Donna,

I deleted my memorial this morning and the owner of memorial 54426768 transferred it to me this morning without my asking, lol. As I was on my cell phone I forgot to check memorial 133262375. Since the first memorial is the older of the two it would be helpful if Kelby could transfer the photo to the older memorial and delete the duplicate.

For some reason, I'm thinking Carrie and WR Aultman married in Bibb County in 1864, but I can't remember where I saw that - I believe I looked at the Washington library after I found out about her remarriage, but I'm not positive at this second. I have a third cousin through my Kelsey line, and her husband is related to WR Aultman distantly, and I think she mentioned their marriage to me. Maybe the name was spelled Altman instead of Aultman, or Carrie used her maiden name Summerlin instead of McGee or Sarah or Caroline instead of Carrie, but something about the record was weird enough that I never noticed it when I did my first bit of research.

Unfortunately I have no idea about the middle name Gun. No one in the McGee family has that name to my knowledge. James Madison had an elder brother named "Elbert G." but I've never found his full middle name in all of my research, and Elbert's history is very shadowy while the rest of his siblings are well documented. :(

RE: Carolina Aultman
Hi Donna,

Thank you SO much for your post! I believe you are absolutely right - the burial in Riverside Cemetery is Caroline (Carrie) Sarah Summerlin McGee Aultman. When I originally made her page here I did not know she had remarried William Aultman and only searched under her first husband's surname. I will delete the memorial I made and upload her photograph to the memorial you pointed me to!

I help out at Riverside Cemetery during their Spirits in October event so I will try to get by and take a photo of this headstone for F-A-G. There is a photo of it on Riverside Cemetery's genealogy site, but I can't transfer the photo since I didn't take it:
http://genealogy.riversidecemetery.com/genealogy/interment?InterID=503

I have a little more info on her, but I don't know if you've already got it or not.

She married James Madison McGee (my GGG-Uncle) at the age of 14. He was 21. They had one daughter to survive infancy (Julia, memorial #81531133). Carrie was 16 when Julia was born. They also had a son that died in infancy (memorial #100171171). She became a war widow at the age of 19 in 1863 when James died during the Vicksburg Campaign (he was shot through the left arm in the Battle of Champion Hill, the arm was amputated, and he died a month later). She later filed for a widow's pension in 1910 under the name Carrie McGee, which was how I got most of her information such as birthday/date of death. This pension was signed for by her brother-in-law Joseph Sidney McGee and a family friend who was with her husband when he was shot during the battle. I also have a photograph of her sister Mary Summerlin Long and sisters Mary and Martha in older age (someone else was gracious enough to send them to me). I'd be happy to share these if you are interested.
