I live in central Maine and I enjoy walking the grave yards near and far, always hoping I'll find a missing ancestor. It happens once in a while! This is a great website. As acid rain and lichens take their toll on grave stones, it is important to get photos recorded and save as much information as possible that may not be available elsewhere.

RE: Abbie Holt
You are very welcome! I did see a stone for a Leonard Holt off by itself. I was unable to read the exact dates but it was sometime around the 1860's?

RE: The McPherson plot
Hi Merrylyn,
I'm still working on photos from about 8 cemeteries I stopped at today, with a cat insisting on stretching out on my laptop... Yes, the other McPhersons are on the back side of Europe's.

RE: McPhetres
Hi,
I also added the Chadbournes that were in the same area (Lendall, Esther, Sarah). There was another stone, but it was mostly unreadable. All I can make out are "daughter of......and S." and died Sept. 18?3

RE: Ada Wilkinson HIlton
I added a wider view of the stone; you can see her name is not on the front, either. Behind the stone is a big "Wilkinson/Hilton" marker with no first names on it.

Hope this helps your search.

Harriet, Samuel, Winthrop, and Ernest Hilton
Hi Merrylyn,

I visited Plot 174 at and photographed all the Hilton stones there: William D, Sarah E, Samuel, Mabel, and Grace.

There is no Harriet, no Samuel, no Winthrop, and no Ernest. I will be uploading an image of the plot to each, shortly.
