Find a Grave ID

Bio

I discovered Find A Grave while searching for the grave of my grandfather's brother. This simple little search sent me on a mission to search for my ancestors and get some of my family history on Find A Grave. Once I got hooked on genealogy, I realized I could help others by adding names to the site so that sent me onto my new "hobby" - photographing graves, and now I am totally addicted. I hope my work on Find A Grave will help others in their search or allow them to "visit" a loved one's grave from near or far away.

Please do not send raw data such as census info or service records to be added to a bio. You can use that in your ancestry program but I think it is tacky on a memorial. I am always happy to add biographical information that enhances a memorial.

I'm not one of those people who think they give a prize for managing the most memorials. If you have any connection to someone that I have created a memorial for, I will gladly transfer it, as long as they are not in my tree.

The Bismarck Tribune did a very nice article on my cemetery project a while back. Here is the address:

In April 2016 they did another article. Here is the address:

I have set up a Tribalpages family tree. Click on the homepage link above to view it.

If I have taken a photograph of your ancestor's tombstone and it is of poor quality (shadows/overgrown with grass/hard to read/etc), please let me know and I will see what I can do about taking a better one. It is hard to take good photographs of all the markers when I am at a cemetery as the angle of the sun is often poor the stones don't photograph well.

If I have helped you in your search, please return the favor and "pay it forward" and do your part to help out someone else.
