Andrew and William Broadfoot
Hello Raymond B. Like previous writer from August 2016, I am a descendant of (George) Andrew Btoadfoot, who was born in Scotland in 1800. Our family had heard the legend of Andrew and his brother William escaping from Scotland aboard a ship that turned out to be that of Lafitte the pirate Have you uncovered any evidence of such? Please advise.

Thanks, and best regards,

Alisa Freeman Alvarez

Robert,

Am hoping you can help provide some insight. on your post regarding William Broadfoot (above) you mentioned the family tradition of his sons William and Andrew arriving at Galveston as pirates for Jean Lafitte. I am wanting to ask where I can obtain any information regarding this-some way of verifying this information. Andrew is my great-great grandfather and I have not found any information where he came over from Scotland so this would be greatly beneficial in explaining why I can't find him on any immigration records. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Randy Braidfoot

Henry M.L. Torbett
I have been trying to find the graves of Civil War veterans in Devine Evergreen Cemetery. I have been unable to locate Henry Torbett's grave. I have found his wife, mother, sister, and son. Do you know the location of his grave? I am a member of a heritage group that would like to find, honor and care for the graves of these veterans. And would like permission from any remaining family to do so. Johnny

Pablo (Paul) Bartola Canova
Hello Raymond,

I would like your permission to add P.B. Canova's information to my tree. My 4X's great grand mother was married to George Paul Canova.

I hope you agree to allow me this.

Thank you, Melanie Green Matrascia

Emanuel Crespo
Hi Raymond, My husband is a descendant of the Canovas and I see you have traced this line. When I finally went beyond what he already knew from family members I found Emanual Crespo and your extensive biography which was so helpful. It clarified why I had found travel from Havana for Celestine and then indeed confirmed her birth in Florida. I had thought maybe she had been born in Cuba. After copying your biography I finally saw that you did not wish your hard detailed work to be attached to a website such as ancestry. I am writing to ask you permission as I am trying to get as much as possible accessible to his family on Ancestry.com. This would be much appreciated.

Thank you, Trina

Paige Henson
Dr. J.E. Blackshear
Hi, Ray. I am Paige Henson, a writer from Macon. I am seeking your permission to use that extraordinary, sepia-toned photo in the interior of a medical history book I am writing for the non-profit Medcen Foundation, a non-profit in Macon that raises funds for the Children's Hospital, Navicent Health, among others. The book will not be on the market for sale; it will be a gift book for donors. This is a beautiful restoration on your part. I will be happy to give you one of the books featuring your ancestor when it is printed. This is soon, BTW. So please contact me so I can include it, if you agree. THANK YOU!

Can you email me at:

or call me on my cell: 478-228-4814.

FLOYD FAMILY LETTERS
Hello. I am just finshing up the book on the Floyd Letters. It is well over 1000 pages with the photographs, so printing it is too expensive for me. I do have the individual letters with notes and photographs on a CD and am just finishing up a PDF file containing all of the letters but no photographs. I also have just finished transcribing the Augusta Gallie Floyd Diary, and have also downloaded on CD, the Henry Hamilton Floyd diary, the Samuel Augustus Floyd Diary, Mary Faith Hamilton's Floyd Book, The Maud Pacetty Diary by Midge, and Midges Floyd Family book which I have converted to a Tabled format.
I can send any or all of these to you on CD at cost $5.00 + depending on how many CDs it takes.
The Floyd letters contain all of the letters that I could find through Midge and the internet by John Floyd and Charles Rinaldo Floyd and Richard Ferdinand Floyd [about half of the book] and others as well as the collection that I received from Aunt Nell. Please email me direct : Margaretnoyes@juno.com with your address and let me know what you want.
