I live in Missouri and I enjoy writing, music, and country living. |
I like to take walks in cemeteries, especially the ones with old stones with epitaphs that are interesting. Some unusual first names that I have encountered are, "Catsy" and "Baptist".
I take pictures of the grave sites of people I have known because I feel it is important to remember them. I also enjoy taking pictures for people who don't live in my area and would like to have pictures of their family and ancestor's final resting places.
I have an interest in historical as well as family history. I want to encourage others and especially my children and grandchildren to preserve family history.

Yes, I expect the T on "Toosevelt" is a typo!! You can clearly make out the R on his headstone--geez--my fingers do funny things on the keyboard anymore!! LOL Thanks for catching that! The boys are growing like weeds--won't be long and they'll be graduating from college! LOL Thanks, again!

Thank you Pam for linking her to her parents.
|David E. Burden||Leo "Doc" Marsh Memorial# 30739400|
I am a descendant of the Marsh family of Knox & Scotland Counties, in Missouri. I currently live in adjoining Schuyler County.
I am doing researching, and documenting as many members of the family as I can.
While searching through the cemeteries in the area looking for Marsh family members, I came upon Leo, "Doc" Marsh's grave in the Greensburg Cemetery, as well as several others.
At the time I wondered if he, and several others, were of the same family but was not sure. I have now learned that all of the Marsh's in these cemeteries in the area were indeed of the same family.
I am creating memorials on Find A grave for those family members as I find them and am trying to get them all linked together wherever possible.
Turns out that Leo's parents are also buried at the Greensburg Cemetery. I have created memorials for them. Simeon B. Marsh, Memorial# 66988066, and Fannie Marsh, Memorial# 66988099.
Would you be so kind as to transfer management of Leo's memorial to me so that I can link him to his family members as I discover them, (I'm sure there are more yet to find), or at least add links to his memorial for his parents.
Whichever option you decide on. I'm not trying to horde all the family members, I'm simply trying to get them all linked together so that others researching the family will not have so difficult a time as I have.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Yes, I know. At the time I did my entry I didn't remember the other entry. I guess I should contact the other person and see if we can combine our efforts.
I have worked on the St. Aloysius cemetery for three years and I am still working on it. I decided to enter what I have knowing I can always go back and add more info.
I really love this website.
