Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a Military Historian and Reenactor, covering time-periods from the Pirate era to Vietnam in South Carolina. I am currently serving as the Commanding Officer of the "Palmetto Riflemen & New York Zouaves," an American Civil War Reenacting Unit, as well as being a member of the Micah John Jenkins Camp No. 164 of the Sons of Spanish American War Veterans, and the Charles Devens Jr. Camp No. 10, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.

I see it as an honor and a privilage to ensure that the Veterans of the United States are properly remembered and that there graves are cared for.

Kenneth, thank you for transferring the memorial of David Reid Flenniken; who is buried at First Presbyterian Churchyard cemetery in Columbia, South Carolina to my care. Your work here at Find-a-Grave is invaluable to individuals like me doing family research. ~ with appreciation, George Gaston

Looking for info on Micah J. Jenkins
Hello -

I'm doing research on the Battle of Las Guasimas and am trying to locate the papers of "K" Troop Commander, Michah J. Jenkins. As you know, he went on to be the 1st US Volunteer Cavalry's adjutant after Col Wood ran off West Pointer, Captain Tom Hall for cowardice at Las Guasimas and San Juan Hill. Would you know where Major Jenkins' papers and or memoirs might be? I am trying to see if I can find out what he might have written about his experiences at Las Guasimas. I've visited that battlefield in Cuba and am also a trustee of the Theodore Roosevelt Association. Any help would be appreciated. Email me at SimonAmerica@gmail.com and CC ksimon@ets.org too if you have any info. Thanks - Keith Simon, Princeton, NJ

Find A Grave transferred the memorial to me and also Dora Laird Randolph. I supposed because they're my great grandparents. That was nice!

Kenneth, I don't know how it happened, but it looks like it's been transferred to me. If you helped make it happen, thank you so much!

This is my great grandfather. What a wonderful photograph of him! I've heard many stories about him, but I haven't seen a picture. Would you give me permission to use his picture on my ancestry.com page and give you and Find a Grave the credits? Also I would very much appreciate to have his memorial transferred to me, but I don't know who the page belongs to. I'm impressed with your reinactment activities. My husband, who died just a few months ago was a great patriot. He was a collector of Military memorabilia. Our whole upstairs is a Military museum. He has over 200 uniforms from all the Wars. Thank you for what you do so well!
