RE: Rice Family
Hi Jim,

Thanks so much for the transfers and all your help finding these folks.

Briefly, the mystery for years was how this family ended up in Baltimore all the way from western NY state. Finally it dawned on me that the dad, Phillip, was in the 8th NY Heavy Artillery in the CW, they guarded the armory at Baltimore, and his wife and oldest kids moved there during the war to all be together. They stayed for years after the war ended, before moving back to NY, some of the children had put down roots by then and stayed in Maryland.

I love this stuff!

Thanks again,

RE: Bettie Rice
Hi Jim,

Bettie is a very distant relative- I have done a ton of work on her family and I'd love a transfer.

Have a great day,

Ruhling memorials you manage

You manage two of my relatives memorials on find-a-grave.

Laura M. Metzger Ruhling - who is my grandmother (my mother's mother).

Carolyn Evelyn Miller Ruhling - who is my aunt by marriage (married to my mother;s brother)

Would you consider transferring management of their memorials to me?

I'm from Baltimore, grew up in Brooklyn, worked in DC for over 40 years and retired to Nevada in 2013. I will be back in the area briefly in late May and plan a trip to visit my brother who still lives in Brooklyn. I have been trying to get all the locations of my relatives that are buried in Cedar Hill, of which there are quite a few, over the years.

Thanks for your time and consideration of this matter.

RE: Max and Anna Staffa
Hi Jim,

Sure! I appreciate it. :) I know exactly where the grave is and if it is another member of the family, have info on other Staffa related graves.

Thanks much! It was interesting coming across their marker.

Take care and have a great weekend.

RE: Anna Henwood
It's a beautiful graveyard. Well worth a visit, I think. That's why I started volunteering to take photos there--I went there whenever I was in the area anyway just to look around, so I thought I may as well make myself useful.

I'm about an hour and fifteen minutes away, but have business near WLH every few weeks, which is mostly the only time I make it there.

By the way, I noticed a George Wood in the background of the group shot someone added for Abraham Henwood and others (I also have a shot of that grouping). I don't have a connection for him to the Henwoods, but I do see his memorial doesn't have a photo. I'll upload a crop of my group shot to his and try to get a better photo next time.
