Midway Cemetery, Hutchins & Dillard
My great grandmother was Martha Ellen (Ellie) Hutchins who married John H. "J H" Dillard and is buried in Midway Cemetery. Their son Alfred Wilson "AW" or "Al" was my grandfather. I remember Ellie fondly. John's parents according to his death certificate were William Dillard and Ellen Peppers (Dillard). Do you know anything about that Dillard/Peppers connection? I try to visit the cemetery 2 times a year and place flowers and a flag for memorial day. Do you know of any descendents of this family who still live in Barrow or Gwinnett counties? I would love to find the graves of William and Ellen Peppers Dillard. The two unmarked graves, are there any records that could tell us who is buried there? Debbie thank you for caring for other families as much as you do for your own. My grandmother once said the Ethridge and Dillards were related?

Thanks for your efforts. I know how long it takes to find a "lost" person. You are very kind.

Octavia Bankston
Hi Debra,

Thanks for your tireless efforts to secure a photo for Octavia. Even though you could not find a lettered stone, I am very thankful you posted the cemetary photo as a replacement. It is a beautiful photo, so serene, and at least we have an idea of the scenery at the location of her grave.
Thanks again,
Charlotte
