I served my Country in the United States Coast Guard from 1965-1969 active duty. I joined the Coast Guard because I had tried to join another branch under the Dept. of Defense and was classed 4-F due to a hearing loss.

My maternal line is Bond, Otwell, Redwine, Ballard, Sampler, Finley, Kirkus, Hall, Lee, Smith, Johnston, and others.

On my paternal line the paper trail & Y-DNA proves I am directly related to George Harrison born about 1655. This George Harrison was of Westmoreland County, Virginia. George Harrison was married to Elizabeth Duncan daughter of Peter Duncan of Scotland.

George Harrison's GGGG grandson Lemuel Vincent "Lem" Harrison was born 1877 in Hall Co., GA and moved to Spalding Co., GA before the 1940 census. Lem died in Spalding Co., and was buried on Pea Ridge in Hall Co., GA.

Lem's son Travis R. Harrison was born in Hall and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin, Spalding Co., Georgia.

My roots are deep in the Middle Georgia area. Most of my fore fathers moved from the North to the South before the United States was founded.
