If I place a memorial in an incorrect cemetery or if cremains are later buried, please let me know the location of the burial so my memorials are correct.

Please use the Edit tab located at the top right of the memorial to let me know of any corrections/additions to my listings so that I may make the updates.

I spend a lot of time increasing the volume and accuracy of biographical information and links even for unrelated families.

I began studying my family history in 1976 and have been at it ever since. I love searching for members of my family tree and learning all I can about their lives.

Personal focus of research on:

The Lyman Family in America: the Ancestors & Descendants of Richard Lyman & Sarah Osborne from High Ongar, England, 1631.

Thomas Tolman, from Salcombe Regis, Devon, England and arrived in America in 1635 and settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

I have been searching for memorial at Greenlawn but have not been able to locate at this time.
Greenlawn is very well laid out and marked but many memorials.
I will continue my search and let you know any results. There is rarely any representatives at the cemetery.

Rev. Clesson P. Sheldon
What information do you have that indicates he's buried in the old Mount Ida Cemetery in Troy? The DAR did not record a headstone for him in 1923, which isn't to say he might not be there, but they were fairly thorough and one would expect a Reverend's grave to have been marked.

I did an edit for the name & birth of Elizabeth "Betsy" Doane Coleman. My 4th great grandmother. I posted a photo of her gravestone. Betsey is pretty clear. The stone says she was in her 87th year. So the birth date of 1782 is wrong for 1863 death date. My Great grandmother, who I knew, knew her grandmother who was Betsey's daughter. She had her mother's birthday as Nov. 7, 1777. She never knew where her mother was born nor about Betsey's parents. Seems Seth and Betsey kept off the books for marriage and the birth of their 7 children anything about her parents or birthplace. The census points back to Amherst, Mass. for all of them. My Great grandmother said it was something of a hush hush about Betsey's family. We haven't been able to find a thing and much hunting has been done. I suspect her father was one of the Doane brothers convicted of robbery in 1781, one fled the country and the other brothers were hung. Others of Joseph Doane's family went to Canada. Seth's father was a respected Dr. in Amherst and his mother was related to the Beecher family, who were temperance society leaders and very religious. Keeping up appearances seemed to be in order when it came to their son's wife. They moved to Sodus, NY in 1818. Seth was 44, Betsey 41 when their oldest was 17 and youngest twins were 2 yrs. old.

Kelly edits appreciated!
We went out this morning and photographed John and also his wife, Marie H Kelly. Then I went to the Washington County obits and saw that someone had transcribed an obit for him, and that the Genealogical Association added it this past February. Thank you so much for your links!
