Bender's
Sorry, I forgot you asked for any other Benders located in Cobleskill Rural & St.Vincent de Paul's Cem. There are quite a lot of them & in diff. locales there. Do you have any idea of names to look for? If not, that's ok but, it will take a day when I have a lot more time than I do these days! Just let me know & be patient?

Hi there,
I just rec. a message from a Stephen Miller that said he was the wrong one???
Anyway, just in case, I'll send this to you & if I have the wrong person again, I apologize.
A friend of mine was the Funeral Dir. here for many yrs & knows the Cobleskill Rural Cem. as well as many others. He has the records of the Cob. Cem. & I went to him when I couldn't find William Bender. According to the records, he actually died from a "crushed chest" on Dec.24, 1964. Apparently his funeral may have been June 2, 1965 & burial was June 9, 1965. He should be in the Evergreen Section of the cemetery but, neither of us could find any stone for him there (my friend came to check when I told him I couldn't find). There are several base stones within that area so, it's possible a gravestone was never put on a base?? I can photo that Section for you if you'ld like. Best I could do other than maybe checking some records at the Old Stone Fort (where I volunteer with geneology). Out of my own curiousity, I probably will on my next time there! Sorry, but, maybe at least this info can help you?

Joseph Conley Criswell
Good Morning,

Though you did not ask, I am going to transfer this memorial to you since it is a maternal gg grandparent. Direct line ancestors, no matter how far back, should be transferred to the first one who asks and since I have no direct lineage, you should have it.

VERY INTERSTING that his brother was Benjamin Criswell. I never even thought of there being a connection. I have studied the Battle of the Little Big Horn extensively and was familiar with his name.

Thanks for writing. I made the connections you requested.

Regards,

Rick Lawrence, MSgt., USMC/USAFR (RET)

I forgot to explain my declining to transfer

You did not explain how you are related and you do not have a stated transfer policy to show that you are willing to transfer outside of the guidelines I will transfer to you if you are willing to transfer outside of the guidelines and if you tell me how you are related please let me know as I only wont to make sure that immediate family will be able to get there memorials if they would like to maintain them. Please let me know and I will make the transfer

RE: Rosa Hodge
After I received your note about Rosa Hodge being killed in a tornado in 1896, I wanted
to see if I could find more info. I found that
she was born on August 11 of 1889. Her full
name was Rosa Jane Edith Hodge, her parents
were John Richard and Madora Belle Younger Hodge. I sent a request to the person who added her to Find A Grave and asked for her to be linked to her parents, they are buried in the same Section and Plot at Laddonia.
