Sharon, wow you're good ! And fast!! The info you got just like that ?! I'm impressed!
The name Jessie is very common in the family; there are several and it gets confusing. Then there are the male and female Jesse/Jessies. And the spelling variations for all!
In answer.. Jessie Squires, born around 1837 (husband of Catherine McManigal) is my gr gr grandfather. He also had a son Jesse (born around 1860; that grave may be Memorial# 114724685 because the dates and geographical area are logical). The last census I found him in 1910, he was 73, with his son Alfred Squires. Which made the dates on the memorial you put up seem to fit, but saddened me that he was at the "Poor farm" if it's him so I checked with you if there is more info.
It is through Jesse Sr's daughter Emma's marriage that (down the road) I came into being :-) But I have drawn up a blank as to her father's (Jessie Sr of 1837) parents, siblings or anything more about him. Nothing.
The internet does make the world a village, and I am so lucky to have so much available. I can't imagine who I would ask for birth certificates for Jesse Squires ( I live half way around the world away from the Kansas & Nebraska libraries and courthouses where some of my family originated) so I have to be totally reliant on modern technology for info. And most of all reliant on the amazing work of great people like you, who are uploading this info which allows someone like me to get all this at my finger tips . Thank you :-) :-)

Thank you for your reply and info.
Sure you can transfer the memorial to me if you would like/wouldn't mind. How is that done? I will assume he is the Jesse Squires I am looking for. But I have no names or any info on his family and was hoping that a death certificate (or marriage certificate) would give me a lead to his parents. Do you have any suggestions how to find his parents' names?
thanks again and wish you a great weekend

This grave has the right name, the right general location and seemingly the right dates of a great great grandfather of mine. May I ask for the details and source of your info about this memorial ? Thank you so much!

The request to link Mary Elizabeth (Booth) Boothe to her mother Sarilda (Crook) Booth was declined because Sarilda's memorial is designated as a "Non-Cemetery Burial". It appears the sole purpose of that memorial is for linking, about which an admin said this "This is Find A Grave and long-term unknown dispositions solely for the purpose of creating family links is outside the main intent of the website."

In accordance with this FAQ, please copy & paste Hays Daily News' permission to republish the obit into a SAC (Edit tab, 6th option) on Harold Irby's memorial. If they did not grant permission, please let me know so I can mark the SAC as 'resolved'.
