I got started in genealogy several years ago while propping my leg and icing my ankle after an injury following Santa down the stairs one Christmas Eve.|
I was bored and even though I did not want the computer that came into my house I started playing around with it. I am self taught on the computer but do the best I can.
I want to leave information about family for my children & grandchildren.
Some surnames I am working on: Bell, Bushing, Cross, Finch, Ganss, Hickle, Keränen, Kriete, Leonard, McNeil, Metcalf, Plain, Thompson, Tulppo & Wells.
This site has been of immense help to me and whenever possible I hope to contribute information I find to it so that maybe others can locate some family information.
I have now started on a project for Stateline Cemetery, Toledo OH. It is a small cemetery with some very old grave markers. I've made several trips there photographing the stones & putting them on this site. Next I hope to obtain written records to either add the names or update what I have already entered. I am hoping this project might help someone down the line.
If I have taken a marker photo feel free to use it as you wish as long as it is not for profit. Look for sec412 to identify photos I've taken.

Also meant to say that you can contact the Cardston cemetery office by emailing email@example.com
They would be able tell you if Lyman is interred there & the plot info.
Thank you for doing all that you are doing too!

Thanks for catching this error. As stated in the memorial for Aunt Malinda, I used what was written in Aunt LaVerne's book for her bio. However, my research for Martha Jeannette (Cook) Hinman on Ancestry agrees with the memorial 107771122. In fact, I have been working to update the information on the Hinmans this past month. If you would like to suggest the edit for Martha Jeannette's parents, I will leave that for you to do. Yes, James Cook, 94186640 is her father. I am adding him as a spouse on Melinda's memorial along with her first husband, Isaac Pugh, which I have not found so I am creating one for him.

Hi Sharon, You are welcome for the pics. It seems that somehow we got Mary and Albert linked twice. Maybe you did one, and I did the other--or I did both maybe. I suggest you pick one of them, do an edit suggestion, and remove the spouse. That should fix it.
Your welcome! Just like the John's there were several Bellamy's together, they were so grown over I didn't have time to dig them all out! If I get back there I will take my hand edger and dig them out!

Just an example my husband & I are both living and our headstone is on findagrave in the Montrose cemetery it is there so when I am gone my friend will be able to fill in the blanks or add an obituary.
I'm going to go ahead and transfer the memorial and if you would like too delete it that is ok too but that way you can decide what you would like to do plus I would rather a relative or friend have a memorial than me who only recorded it.
Thank you for the information on VanNorwick's but when we (my friend Linda)& I record the headstones in a cemetery we record all headstones even if they are not deceased. The only reason is so it is recorded. If anyone has a problem with the headstone being there we will remove it. Would you like the picture removed?
Or I can transfer it to you so when they do pass you will be able to add obituary information.
Just let me know what would make you more comfortable & I am willing to do it.
