|Molly McLaughlin||RE: Cicero's parents|
Yes, that is me. I will look at your posts.
I have had the Sansom bug for a week or so and been digging out more info that I had. Maybe something new to focus on.
|Molly McLaughlin||Cicero's parents|
I am researching Sidney Prince Maughon/Maughan/Mohon's wife, Martha A. Sansom whom he married
on 28 JULY 1839 in Walton Co., Georgia. That there is a girl named Ann Kigle (Cagle) in their household 1850 and that a son named Franklin makes me wonder if he was not a son of Franklin B. Sansom. In a Jasper Co., Ga. deed a Jesse Goolsby
made a deed to Franklin B. Sansom for land in Walton, land in Walton Co., Ga. (Lot 96, 2nd District Walton Co., Georgia) and witnessed by
Franklin B.'s brother, Glenn Harrison Sansom. I suspect by records their mother was named Elizabeth, and that possibly she is r/to the Jesse Goolsby and near them (Sidney and Martha as Mohon) in census 1850 in Walton Co., Georgia. Franklin B. Sansom was a son of Archibald Sansom d. 1816 or so in Jasper Co., Georgia-had resided 1810/12 in Morgan Co., Ga. and son of Richard Sansom d. 1816/7 (after Archibald-said to have been killed by the Indians). Franklin's wife was a Nancy Gray. I know a man named John West deeded lands that were left to the orphans (Franklin B., Glenn Harrison, Zelpha Calvert md. John Cagle; Matilda Mariah md. John Turner and Mary "Polly Sansom) original deed of land to Richard from David Meriwether.
I have lots of Sansom research and would gladly share it with you.

Jammy, I don't know where it is. I have deleted that part from the Bio - it was in the description when I had it transferred to me. That description is a Whitworth cemetery - but a 100 -150 years later. I have come across many cemeteries in my ancestor line which I don't know where they are. Names change - cemeteries get grown over - and in a few of my cases - the freeway is on top of them. There are some cemeteries which I wrote to find a grave admin to ask them if a name was changed on some of them - and they don't have that record. Because of being so old - it could very well just be on a plot of land on someone's farm and they named it who ever owned it. Sorry, I would love to know myself.

Glad I could help with the Pirkle markers. I have a lot of family in the Haw Creek cemetery but so far have no connections to Pirkles.
For some reason the pics I uploaded yesterday weren't behaving (you couldn't click on them to make them larger). I think I have the problem solved now but please let me know if you encounter problems with them.

I have Cicero in my Family tree. I guess that makes us cousins. My line is from Sidney Prince's Brother Peyton. He married Sarah Rains and they had a Daughter named Martha L Maughon who married Marion Lusious Edgar Norris who had a Daughter Lizzie Ella Norris. This is my Grandmother Lizzie Mitchell. I don't have any pictures. I wish I did.
