Bio

My husband and I have always loved walking cemeteries, pondering the lives and fates of countless people.

We are volunteers with the non-profit Rochester State Hospital Cemetery Recognition Group in Rochester, MN whose mission is to restore dignity and respect by placing cemetery markers on the over 2000 graves of hospital residents interred basically unmarked and forgotten. We are also searching for the first cemetery for the institution (in use 1879-1885) which is the resting place of the first 75 patients buried on the hospital grounds. This cemetery, called the "Rosemont" was abandoned in 1885 and its location is currently unknown.

We also belong to a non-profit group The Friends of the Dead based in Tombstone, AZ which places markers for forgotten or impoverished children's graves.

We spend summers in Minnesota and winters in Arizona.
