I kept putting this short bio off, but after doing photo requests for people and "meeting them" through their bios, I decided it was time. I am a retired school teacher who loves doing genealogy work and exploring cemeteries. I love the concept of Find A Grave where people in different areas are so willing to help each other with photos. When my husband and I are fulfilling photo requests, we sometimes add more stones to a cemetery. I am always willing to "give these up" to family members who can add more information. Just ask.|

|Dennis Harmsen||RE: Photo Request for WINANS|
I think everything is taken care, so disregard the first note. Thanks.
Thank you for the gravestone photo for Sarah Winans in Graceland Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa. That child who is also buried in Graceland, would be John and Sarah Winans's son. Goldie sounds like a girl's name, so are you sure the burial records states son? If there is no gravestone photo for this Goldie Winans, would you take that photo for me. If no memorial, I will make one. Will check Blair, Nebraska and see if any John Winans is there. Thanks for your info.

Barbara, May I use your photo of Lonnie Whelan's marker in my family tree? Thanks

I managed to photograph this grave stone. Next to the grave stone I saw Joann Evatz. I had a hunch their may be a relation of some sort. so I photographed that stone as well.

No, I don't know the section he is buried in. You may want to ask the owner of Kevin' memorial page.

You can scan the obit and paste it on the memorial page, if you like. I just put the name and date of the newspaper in the space provided for a caption. I am not related, just spent a day in Avoca, Iowa and snapped some photos at the cemetery while I was there. A habit I have gotten into while I travel.
Would you have a problem if I could use your tombstone pictures for Lukas genealogy? I have not been to Red Cloud area for a long time and would sure appreciate it.

Mary Dool's parents were Thomas Dool & Mary Dool nee Bell. They are buried there too, and you took a photo of their headstone as well. Again, thank you so much!

Mary E. was the daughter of Thomas and Mary, shown in the 1900 census. There was one other daughter, Margaret, born about 1866, married to W. J. Martin. Haven't yet found her yet.
