Past President of the Mount Vernon Genealogical Society (www.mvgenealogy.org) & author of New Copies of Old Records from Hebron CT, 1708-1875 (Heritage Books, 2011) & various articles on New England genealogy.I have transcribed Litchfield County, CT cemeteries from the Hale Collection because I'm looking for 18th Century collateral ancestors in our Birge, Fox, Hatch, Holcomb, Hindman, Hunt, Noble, Peck, Thompson, Wilcox, & Willson lines. If you are related to other families in these cemeteries, let me know & I will transfer ownership of memorials with your surnames to you so you can add information and links. I have many other Connecticut ancestors in central Connecticut cemeteries, where I will also transfer memorials unrelated to our family. Most of my Connecticut memorials are copied from the Hale Collection, which transcribed all Connecticut tombstones during the Depression. The transcription is not error-free, but Hale was able to read things then which are no longer legible today. The New Hampshire entries are all from Colonial Gravestone Inscriptions in the State of NH, by Mrs. Charles Goss (1942). None are close relations of mine, so if you want to make additions or corrections, please just request a transfer. When contacting me about a specific memorial, PLEASE do so from the Edit:Corrections & Queries tab on the memorial itself. This makes it SO much easier for me to respond quickly & accurately.|

Extending the previous comment, there is likewise duplicates for the husband of Thanks:
Ralph Shepard # 5121803
Ralph Shephard # 37227772
(yours, created 2009)
You clearly here created a page when one had already existed for almost a decade, and yours lacks a burial location, so yours should be merged into the other.

This memorial of yours is one of a set of triplicates. The following three entries all refer to the same woman:
Thankslord Perkins Shepard # 37227793
(yours, created May 2009)
Thank Ye Lord Shepherd # 41339562
(created August 2009)
Thanklorde Thanks Perkins Shepard # 70683819
(created May 2011)
Given that they all have different details, dates and places, this will likely require some coordination between the three members responsible, but it is not in the best interest of the project to continue having three alternative sets of information referring to the same woman.

Hello. If you are going to opine by listing genealogical information with grave memorials, please attempt to be accurate by using reliable sourcing. I have noticed many listings by you that are flat incorrect. It is a disservice to those researching. Further anything you cite, you should give credit to the author. Plagiarism is not cool. Sorry to be so blunt and direct, but the number of your inaccuracies are too many to be ignored. Thanks David

Elizabeth is the ONLY documented name for the wife of Jacob Barney (1601). Maiden name unknown. Sources: "Genealogy of the Barney Family in America" by Preston, Eugene Dimon & Barney, Wm. Clifford, (Barney Family Historical Association: Springfield VA,) 1990), p. 2-4
1. Copy of U.S., New England Marriages Prior to 1700
Image reads: "BARNEY, Jacob (1601-1673) + Elizabeth/? Anna___? (-1673+); ? ca. 1632 b. 1639; Salem"
2. Elizabeth (nee unknown), wife of Jacob Barney, Sr. (1601)

Jacob Barney b. 1601; m. ELIZABETH BARNEY NEE UNKNOWN; Their Children: 1. Jacob b. about 1630 in England. 2. Hannah b. about 1633; m. John Cromwell at Salem, Essex, MA 3. Sarah b. about 1636; m. 13 May 1656 John Grover; d. 2 November 1662 4. John b. bef. 15 December 1639 at Salem, Essex, MA; d. bef. 28 April 1673 Jacob Barney was born in 1601 in England. He was possibly the son of Edward Barney of Braddenham, Bucks, England. His wife’s name was ELIZABETH and she survived him. He was a tailor. He is listed on the manifest of the Lyon. The Lyon left Bristol, Thames, Gravesend, England on 5 April 1629 along with five other ships. It arrived in Salem late May or June 1629. The ship’s master was William Pierce. Jacob is mentioned as “ Barney, Jacob, of Braddenham, county Bucks bound for Salem.” He was definitely in Salem in 1634. The estate was administered and inventoried on 2 June 1673. It totalled £655 3s. 8d., which £462 was real estate: seven acres salt marsh, £42; five acres meadow called Bishop's Meadow, £5; 250 acres land, £360; five acres meadow called Bunker Meadow, £20; dwelling house, barn and cowhouse, £26; and 68 rods in Salem, £9. On 24 June 1673 administration on the estate of Jacob Barney was granted to ELIZA[BETH] the WIDOW and Jacob the son. On 28 June 1673 the heirs entered into an agreement on the distribution of the estate; after provision for the widow, all the lands and housing were to go to Jacob Barney "the only son of Jacob Barney," except for the "small parcel in the town of Salem," which was to go to John Cromwell; "whereas Jacob Barne's sister died and left one son and three daughters, viz. John Grover, Hannah Grover, Sarah Grover and Abigall Grover, their said uncles Jacob Barne and John Cromwell" are to provide for them [ EPR 2:359-61]
3. " Notes for Elizabeth Catesby: I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE that her surname was Catesby; but that name has been handed down for over a hundred years by secondary sources."
4. Jacob Barney of Salem, Massachusetts--Excellent Biography with 29 footnotes
The documented Elizabeth Catesby KND6-64R (on familysearch.org) was born in 1584 in Hardmead, Buckinghamshire, England and married John Crawley M3S5-VRV.
100 years of erroneous data does not alter facts!
Find A Grave incorrectly puts maiden name of "Catesby" for Elizabeth.

Thank you so much for all the work you do for Find A Grave, including this memorial for my 10th great aunt, above. I am hoping that you can give me some background about the source(s)of the information you have posted there.
In particular, I have searched for any record of her birth, and I have found none. Now I find her memorial with an exact date, and I am so excited!
Do you have the record or possibly know the person by whom it was obtained? This could save me so much more work trying to find it!
Thanks in advance for whatever assistance you can give me,
