RE: Sarah Willard
Sorry I was unable to locate either gravestone for you... Louis is not even listed on the memorial sign... I photographed almost every stone in the cemetery and double checked my photos... Many of the stones in this cemetery are very hard to read and some of them impossible... The cemetery seems to be well maintained but hasn't been used in over a 100 years... By just browsing through my photos of the "tags" the latest date of death interred there was in the year 1900...

Sir Mark Linn
RE: Ogatha Linn
Doug,

If you would like to transfer the Ogatha Linn memorial for me to manage, I would really love that, and thank you so much for your generosity!

Mark

P.S. Ogatha is quite an interesting name!

Gertraude Rusert
Gertraude E. Rusert
(September 24, 1927 - September 28, 2013)

Gertraude E. "Traudel" Rusert, age 86, of rural Winona, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013, at St. Anne of Winona, where she had spent several days recovering after a recent heart attack.

Traudel was born on September 24, 1927, in Penzig, Germany, to Arthur and Elisabeth (Göbel) Drozen. She met her future husband, Elgar C. Rusert, while he was stationed with the US Army in Europe during World War II. Traudel came to Minnesota in July 1947, and on August 3, 1947, she and Elgar were united in marriage at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church – Silo, where she was a long-time active member. Elgar and Traudel farmed together for many years north of Lewiston. Elgar preceded her in death on August 3, 2011.

Traudel will be remembered for her excellent homemaking skills, her love of knitting and crocheting, and for passing on her German heritage to her family. She enjoyed the many friendships she made with her neighbors and in the community. Traudel's greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Traudel is lovingly survived by her children, Glenn (late, Corinne) Rusert, Winona, MN, Mark (Joyce) Rusert, Altura, MN, and Heidi (Dave) Petersen, Winona, MN; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jeremy (Jen) Petersen; Lindsay and Madelyn, Marshfield, WI, Shane (Selena) Rusert; Dylan and Anneliese, Winona, MN, Jessica (Sam) Thesing and Tanner and Colton, Rushford, MN, Jason (Amy) Rusert and Nickolas and Nolan, Roseville, MN, Melissa (Cory) Feine and Isaac, Rushford, MN and Joel Rusert, Moundsview, MN; sister: Anneliese (late, Heinz) Seifert, Duren, Germany; brothers-in-law, Lorenz (late, Margaret) Rusert, Winona, MN, and Daryl (Mary) Rusert, Lewiston, MN; sister-in-law, Lorna (Oliver) Clemenson, Crookston, MN; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elgar; her daughter, Karen; an infant son; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church – Silo, rural Lewiston, MN. The Reverend William Meilner will officiate.

Traudel will be laid to rest in the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery - Silo.

Visitation will be held at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church – Silo, rural Lewiston, MN, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, from 4 PM until 8 PM, and again on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, from 10 AM until the time of the service.

Pallbearers will be Traudel's grandsons, Jeremy Petersen, Shane Rusert, Jason Rusert, Joel Rusert, Sam Thesing and Cory Feine.

RE: Tekla
Hi Doug,

I sent you additional info that I found, tried to send it to your e-mail address, but my provider doesn't like the address. Do you have another one that I could use to send you the info. Just send another e-mail address to my e-mail address. That would keep it private.

Thanks,

Rev. Melzer
Hi Doug,

I did not post Rev. Melzer, it appears that it was transferred to you. I posted his daughter
Tekla yesterday, but will transfer to you if you like. She would be related to you.

I looked in the Anniversary book for Trinity Lutheran Church and found that Rev. Melzer was baptized at Trinity on April 30, 1876 by Rev. W.G. Polack. Rev. Melzer is buried near my grandparents.

Let me know about Tekla.
