Bio and Links
Bio Photo As past president of the New Mexico Genealogical Society, I have a great interest in preserving the family history of people from this state. I primary focus on Hispanic families in the Socorro area, but I encourage everyone to research their own genealogy and am happy to give advice.

I live in Albuquerque. As such, I am available to take photos of nearby cemeteries. My favorites are Sunset Memorial Park and Mount Calvary Cemeteries, both of which are on Edith Blvd. A few days each year I go back to Socorro. I can take photos or look for markers when I'm down there, too.

Check out my blog detailing my research on the Socorro Land Grant at www.socorrogrant.org.

Justin Zimmerly
Robert,

Justin's wife's temporary marker is currently placed in front of his marker. I added a photo of the grave as-is, but will keep it in my "to do" list and swap in a new photo after the updated marker is in place.

Regards, Sidney

RE: Apolinar Vaiza
You at very welcome. Indeed, the hat does mark the unmarked grave. I generally scratch out a rectangular perimeter in the dirt if possible. Unfortunately that didn't come out in the picture too well. I do have access to Concordia's Catholic burial records after 1912. Currently, there are no other memorials for Concordia under the name "Vaisa" or "Baisa". If you have information that confirms her burial in Concordia I suggest you create one with what information you have (death certificate?).

Incorrect information
Date of birth is not possible according to his Army records he as 21 year old when he joined, and his death records said he was 48 when he died. The window for his birth is late 1839 to early 1840. When you put information on the web check your sources.

RE: Phillip Bourguignon
Thanks for the notice.
I took the photo mid April this year.
I drive by the cementery often.
I am currently documenting the Esondido (a) cemetery. The are a number of Baca's there.
Another Socorro Cty cemetery that needs documentation is San Antonito.
