Bio

I grew up in East Tennessee and now live in West Tennessee. I became interested in genealogy in 2004 after my father and maternal grandmother (106yo) died.

My paternal surnames of interest are Ellis, Harris, Cofer, Hays, Patton, Cooper, Bewley, and Carson.

My maternal surnames of interest are Quarles, Hamilton, McCrary, Brown, Line, Lindamood, Fry, and Barr.

My main counties of interest are Jefferson, Roane, Hamblen, Grainger, and Hawkins in Tennessee; Rockbridge and Wythe in Virginia; Rowan and Mecklenberg in North Carolina; Kent in Maryland; Schuylkill and Berks in Pennsylvania; and York and Chester in South Carolina.

Most of my ancestors immigrated to the United States during the 1600' and early 1700's from England, Ireland, Scotland and Germany.

Most of my ancestors were farmers and many were preachers or in law enforcement. Many of my ancestors were in the military during the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, and Civil War. During the Civil War most of my paternal ancestors served in the Union Army and most of my maternal ancestors served in the Confederate Army.
