Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery...
The following Sections opened for interments on the dates listed:
Section 6A, February 2012
Section 11, August 2012
Section 12, October 2012
Section 6B, November 2012
Section 14, June 2013
I'll upload grave-site photographs for these Sections (without the need for photo requests) as the grounds-keepers install marker stones and lay sod to make the gravesites presentable. (This could be up to 6 months after interment.)
Thank you for your patience.
August 3, 2012...
Biographical information belongs in bio field or in other fields on the MAIN memorial page.
Please do NOT post pictures of "text" to any of my memorial pages (for example: Do NOT post pictures of; obituaries, death notices, news paper articles, death certificates, or remembrance cards, etc.).
Also, do NOT post biographical information in the Flowers section.
Forward the information using the "Edit" tab and "Suggest a correction...." link. I'll ensure it is apporpriately added to the memorial page in a prompt and professional manner.
Do NOT post non-photograph graphics to the photo section (such as military emblems, membership emblems, flags, candles, etc). These types of graphics waste the 5 alocated "photo" slots.
A family member should NOT have to sponsor a memorial page in order to upload a picture because someone else uploaded a "non-photograph" graphic!
Please respect my photographs, they are for your personal use only. Do NOT copy them to this or any other internet website; do NOT sell them, or otherwise attempt to profit from their use without written permission. (In other words, do NOT charge your relatives a handling or printing fee to obtain a copy of your family tree if it includes one of my photographs.)
In summary, do NOT take credit for any photograph that you did not physically take yourself.
I live in north-central Illinois, within 2 miles of the intersection of I-80 and I-55. I enjoy researching my family tree (8,900+ and growing).
My father's family is from Allegheny and Armstrong counties in western Pennsylvania. My mother's family is from Charles County in Maryland.
We have limbs, branches, and roots that stretch across the United States. Most however, are in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and California.
I enjoy taking cemetery, historical, and other photographs. I am willing to assist with reasonable gravesite and non-gravesite photo requests; I will consider the unreasonable requests.

|James Seidelman||Baby it's cold outside...|
I hear you - even Sunny California was down to 38 degrees the other night. I'm sitting at my desk with my space heater running.
Yes, my sister's in Osseo and they've been 10 below already - not a lot of snow, but just too cold.
Stay warm and now you can get caught up on all your photos from this past summer.
|Craig Hairrell ||Many thanks|
I am in the parking lot of Abraham Lincoln national cemetery where I traveled about an hour to in order to visit the grave of my father-in-law who was buried here about 6 months ago. The information center contained only an automated grave locator which was out of service. Being the weekend there was no one to assist, so I tried the VA online locator. Sadly, it is obviously slow to be updated because I was unable to find my father-in-law. Only your entry at findagrave led me to his burial place, which was in a different section than we had expected.

Thanks for the e-mail. I know that Lyle is still alive and I didn't send any updates for you to put in. I just sent a message that I would like to manage the 3 graves as the Rosendahl's are my 1st cousins.
