Obituary Lloyd B. Allen Former longtime Kelso resident Lloyd B. Allen, 83, died Oct. 2, 2012, in Castle Rock.
He was born March 29, 1929, in Blencoe, Iowa, to Hiram and Lenora (Holeton) Allen and attended Iowa schools.
Lloyd moved to the local area in 1953 after serving two years in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for Long-Bell Co. before being hired by Reynolds Aluminum. He retired in 1989 after 36 years of service. Lloyd was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed snowbirding in Arizona and woodworking. He was a loving, helpful and generous family man.
Lloyd married his first wife, Marilyn in Onawa, Iowa, in 1952. She preceded him in death in 1989. He later married his second wife, Patricia. She also preceded him, in addition to six brothers and seven sisters.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Weber of Walla Walla; four sons, Larry Allen (Delores) and Gary Allen (Pamela), both of Castle Rock, Keith Allen of Walla Walla and Kenneth Allen (Paula) of Kelso; a sister, Amy Pierce of Castle Rock; a brother, Joseph Thad of Soldier, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. Viewings are planned from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home.
