Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my own family and volunteering for the Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society now for the past few years. I love wandering through cemeteries and will be willing to take photos of headstones in my town (or within 20 mi. or so) to help other researchers.

PLEASE ASK ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO TRANSFER A FRIEND OR RELATIVE. I ALMOST NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEM DOING THIS!

The following poem, which I wrote, has gotten a lot of attention lately from those wishing to share it with others. Please know that I would be honored if you did. You can use my name as author if you like.

THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
‘Tis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone

***PLEASE NOTE NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS!!!! THANK YOU!!***

Find-a-Grave Friends: Due to several circumstances, I have been delayed at fulfilling transfer memorials and corrections/connections. I plan to begin working on these today to complete these as requested. Thank you all for your patience -- you have not been forgotten -- and although I won't be notifying you individually that the corrections are made, please rest assured that they will be done ASAP. I appreciate your patience! -- Jan

**************************************************ACCIDENTS SUCH AS DUPES HAPPEN, BUT *PLEASE* MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR AN EXISTING MEMORIAL FIRST BEFORE CREATING A NEW ONE! I HAVE HAD TO DELETE A NUMBER OF MY ORIGINAL MEMORIALS BECAUSE OF DUPES THAT WERE CREATED WITH MORE INFO OR PICS AT A LATER DATE. AS I HAVE STATED IN THE PAST, I WILL ALMOST ALWAYS TRANSFER MEMORIALS IF REQUESTED BUT PLEASE, AS A COURTESY, LOOK FOR AN ORIGINAL BEFORE DUPLICATING. THANKS!

No Headstone Photo
I'm looking for a photo of the actual headstone for Julia Ann Guthrie. The Find a Grave site lists a Julia Guthrie (1828-1962) as buried there but I believe this may be wrong. I'm looking for the gravesite of Julia Ann (Houchins) Guthrie (1827-1911). According to her death certificate, she was buried in the Bethel Cemetery, Emden.

A number of her family members are also buried in this same cemetery which again leads me to believe the above identification is incorrect -- hence the request for an actual picture of the tombstone.

Thanks so much, Ken

I have a question
I just posted a picture from McKinney Cemetery for John Ennis. You have that he was part of the 31st Ill Inf. but I think the stone reads 81st. I have tried to find him on the rosters for either and only find a Johnson Ennis http://civilwar.illinoisgenweb.org/r100/081-f-in.html
could this be the same one??

Would you do me a favor and add the parents of my Aunt Coleen. They are Lester (30342921) and Myrtle (30342923) Keys. (Lester and Myrtle are my grandparents) She is buried next to her parents. Her full name was Iva Coleen Keys Jeralds Burns. I'm fairly certain that Hillis Jeralds (30342825) is her first husband, but maybe we should let her children make that connection. Thanks for all that you've done.
