Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello. My name is Diane. I found this site by accident while trying to look up some information at the Riverside National Cemetery about my beloved late husband. Of course I found no real information.

I have been able to put a memorial for him on this site and that has been such a comfort to me. I am now trying to add names of loved ones for other people so that they too can find some peace by visiting the "site" of their loved ones final "resting place".

If you notice that I have incorrect information or you can add more information than I have, please use the edit tab on the memorial to send a correction or suggestion so that I know what memorial you are referring to. I am trying to be as accurate as possible for the families. As I get most of my information from newspaper obits -errors can and do occur. God Bless you all.

Please Note: I get a lot of request for information about the Gilliam family from all 50 states. Whenever I come across a memorial with the name "Gilliam" on it - I leave a flower on the site. I am not related to most of these people but I leave a little something just in case they are long lost relatives or related somehow through marriage. It makes me feel good to do this. Most of my relatives are from North Carolina.

Gilliam
I am trying to locate Stella Gilliam. She was my mother's birth mother. She had 3 daughters born in 1937,1938 and 1940. Two of the three were given up for adoption at the Belmont Children's home in Ohio. They were adopted into separate homes meeting each other at the age of twelve. The oldest daughter lived with the grandparents. The middle and the oldest daughters are now deceased. The Father was Paul Chandler who was a Long Hall Truck Driver and ended up residing in Tracey Ca. I'm searching for the heritage background. If you can offer any kind if assistance in would be appreciated.

My mother was born Doris Gola Gillham. We have found that the name Gilliam/Gillham/Gilham in the census has been changed over the years. My grandmother was married to George Washington Gillham Jr. In a will in Ala we found the name Gillham spelled four different ways in one document. We are presently doing research on the family and if you have any information that you can share, We would appreciate it.

Thank You
Ronnie Dix

Gilliam family
I need to make a correction to the previous letter I submitted. The John Gilliam whose grave site you submitted was married to Polly Harriss another child of Johnson Harriss. Her sister Martha married a Minyard Gilliam who was 1st cousin to John and Minyard. This Minyard and Martha moved on to East TX.
Also, would like to say there was a WALTER LOTT GILLIAM who lived in Madison Co, AR for a while and deserted a family there.

John Gilliam
Diann, Thanks for everything you do. I have been tracing the JOHN GILLIAM 1858-1931 buried here's bro HARRIS GILLIAM for many years. They have a bro MINYARD buried in OLD PRIMITIVE BAPTIST in DuQuin. These 3 brothers are the sons of BRADDOCK HARRIS GILLIAM AND MAHALA MORRIS. Minyard and John married HARRIS sisters. Minyard married MARTHA and John married NANCY. Both were children of JOHNSON HARRIS and ANN GARRETT. I say all this in case someone else is looking for these brothers. Now their oldest brother HARRIS GILLIAM was born 1837 in FRANKLIN CO, TN. He married ELIZABETH COCHRAN in Independence Co, AR in 1857 but abandoned her and in about 1867, leaving her with 3 children one only 1 year old. I am looking for his place of death. Family lore says he died shortly after leaving AR possibly in MO and was taken to IL for burial. I would assume since he lived in FRANKLIN CO, TN for several years before migrating on to AR, and because he had a younger brother buried in your cemetery, he could be there. Is there anyway of checking if an unmarked Union soilder, Civil War is there? Almost everyone in OLD PRIMITIVE BAPTIST is related to these GILLIAM'S through the HARRIS family. Unfortunatly the plat to that cemetery is lost.
Please contact me at Janrey4198@yahoo.com if anyone has information. Oh yes and COCHRAM (buried there) is another spelling for my COCHRAN family. He supposedly left AR with his sister in law, a COCHRAN.

Dene Steed Gilliam
I am looking for info on the family of Dene Steed Hagan whose married name was GILLIAM. She was born in SC to William Matthew Hagan and Irene Duffie. She was born 7-7-1908, and died 7-3-1994. Your name was listed as a contributor so I am hoping you can help me. She was my grandmother, Roxie Hagan's, half sister from their fathers first marriage. Most of the family did not even know she existed. I've been told that her mother, Irene Duffie Hagan died in childbirth, and that Dene was raised by family on the mother's side. Her husband was possibly Frank Gilliam. Thank you! My email address is: mysterrij@yahoo.com
