Someone was kind enough to add my daughter's grave on here before I even knew about this site.|
A HUGE THANK YOU to those of you who stop by Meaghan's memorial and leave a token; from a momma who misses her more than words could ever express, it gets me teary eyed that you would take the time to do so. Blessings to you~
Just trying to pay it forward...
My grandmother passed away in September on her 90th birthday. If you would like to leave a flower

*******My laptop which has all my cemetery photos has crashed. Until I am able to get it to my techie son to recover all the photos, I am working from the Franklin County Cemetery Records Book (Tennessee). I realize the book has errors in Spelling and dates. I am trying my best to find missing death dates for those that are missing in the book. I started with the small ones but am jumping over to the large cemeteries--just finished everyone from Eastern Star in Sewanee (400 new names on there now) and Memorial Park (500 new names in that one) Please be kind when sending corrections. thanks!******
98% of the memorials I add come from pictures of the headstones taken at the cemeteries. It's the only way to get everyone without someone being missed and just about every cemetery I have been to there have been memorials that were overlooked (even in the small ones.) Some are very difficult to read so I put on as much info as I can make out in hopes that someone will come along with the missing pieces or corrections for what I entered. This site is made up of volunteers GIVING UP THEIR TIME to do this so there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO BE RUDE when contacting with corrections. As per findagrave we have THIRTY days to make a correction (some of us do work outside of entering memorials. DO NOT send a second correction if it has only been a couple days. To send 3 in a week when you have a message on your own profile saying please be patient is comical.
.."We do realize, however, that when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. Please do not add pre-need memorials from (1931-present) to Find A Grave." Yes, I do add all markers if they are before the 1931 birth date and have no death date as more often than not they have passed away and the marker has not been updated. There are loved ones out there that may have been searching for that person which is the whole reason I do this.
Thank you to all of those who give of their time to add to this site!!

|Charlotte||Thank you so much...|
for the gravestone photos.
Best regards from Austria !
|Annette Bradford||Jane Matthews in Williams Cemetery|
You have created a later, redundant record in Williams Cemetery in Tennessee for Jane Matthews. The other record is more extensively linked and predates yours, so yours really should be deleted. Duplicate records create nothing but confusion.

Could you please transfer this memorial to me? This is mt great uncle. Thanks Susan

Marguerite Helen Smith Wham is the sister of Bessie Belle Smith Chamblee... If I put Chamblee in her name, I did so in error. I apologize.

Thanks for taking the photo of the gravesite!!!
Not sure how I request changes. I thought I could go in on relatives and do it myself but I guess not?

Ahhh,...I didn't realize it was you that added the pre-need memorial. I thought it was Joe. Anyway, I'm sure Find-A-Grave will merge the two memorials, leaving you as the managing contributor and that will be fine...I have no special "feelings" to this memorial.
My experience has been that 99% of the people with existing headstones in cemeteries without a death date inscribed are still alive. I like to think that is just common sense. I also research every person that I enter a memorial for and that makes it very obvious if the person is alive or deceased. (The research part of it is the most fun part for me.)
People enter memorials for different reasons... I do not enter memorials just to enter a first and last name and a date of birth and death and then be credited for entering a memorial. I enter my memorials as a tribute to the deceased person. That is my sole reason. If someone benefits from my entry for genealogical purposes, that's great and I'm glad to have helped, but my #1 goal is to enter a meaningful memorial for the subject of the memorial. I spend more time researching people I have already entered memorials for than I spend entering new memorials. It's just the way I think.

I'm already aware, but thank you for your concern.
Joe Blanton has already emailed me and I've responded. The memorial he entered was entered as a "pre-need" memorial, which is against Find-A-Grave guidelines. I've emailed Find-A-Grave, also.
I've never understood why folks want to enter MEMORIALS for folks still here with us. It is one of the most classless things a person can do. (Now I understand when a memorial is entered for a living person, but the contributor believes them to be deceased. But when they enter the memorial for the living person and they know they are still alive! Wow! Can you imagine if you saw your name and information tied to a cemetery like you are dead! That is an experience I never want to have.)
Would you be willing to transfer Cecil Mills #164435470 and Marie Mills 164435479 to us? They are my wife's Uncle & Aunt. We would like to add the stats... pictures and connect them to their children and parents. Thank you for your consideration.
