Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a member of the NEHGS, the Old Bridgewater Historical Society (OBHS), Plymouth County Genenalogists, Inc. (PCGI), and Friends of Middleborough Cemeteries (FoMC). I have researched my Family History and now really enjoy contributing to the knowledge of all people of the past. My non-family memorials focus on my town of Bridgewater, MA and the neighboring areas.

Building a cemetery index: I invest a lot of time developing and maintaining the cemetery page listings for Southeastern Massachusetts (maps for Plymouth and Bristol and Norfolk counties) and several other counties in the state. I add new cemeteries and I remove "incorrect" cemeteries. I improve existing cemetery pages by adding cemetery photos and the GPS coordinates. To each cemetery description, I add the GR identifiers from the MA Vital Records books and the MACRIS identifier to each Massachusetts cemetery description. MACRIS identifiers are an important first step in protecting a Massachusetts cemetery. Knowing where a cemetery is located is the first step in preserving the cemetery and finding a grave.

POSTERITY: I publish photos and create memorials here for the benefit of present and future generations. If you want to publish my gravestone photos on any website that you contribute to (except FindaGrave, according to FAQ#142), include in the photo caption used with the written permission of Chip5610 (#46997557) at FindaGrave and keep a screen-print of this page for your records. Copyright laws require you to obtain permission to use a photograph, and conditionally, you have it! Understand that merely attributing credit does not comply with the law.

Assistance: The structure of the site engenders collaboration. The "Suggest a Correction (SAC)" feature is great, so use it liberally! My e-mail was set-up specifically for FindaGrave matters, so feel free to send as many SACs as you want. This is a great hobby, and I will work with anyone, happily! My only request: Say 'Thank You'!

Hi Chip,

Thanks for taking the gravestone photos of Dea. Zackarias Shaw and his wife, Sarah Packard, in Old Graveyard in East Bridgewater. I have added the transcriptions and "did my homework"! ;)

Chip,

Thank you so much for getting the photos of their final resting place.

In documenting one of our cemeteries up here in NH, I found their son Nahum and some of his family, including three infant grandchildren. It was nice to be able to link them back to their relatives and now to see those grave sites as well.

Your work is very much appreciated!

John Kendall Family - Union Cemetery
Chip, I failed to say than you for the photos of their Monument, although it has raised some questions over Martha A which I intend to clear up. You are amazing, and I truly appreciate the photos. Will certainly give credit to you.

John Kendall Family - Union Cemetery
Thank you ever so much for the transfer of the family to me! I opened my email this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find the transfers. It meant a lot to me.
I think every family deserves as much information as one can give them, as they can no longer tell us their stories. Throughout my search for my Kendall's, I dig as deep as I can on each individual family until I can give them a new breath in "this" world and be able to give some insight into a small portion of their lives. They didn't ask us to do it, I feel it is my duty as a descendant of this wonderful family I have been blessed to be a part of, to give back in some small way and leave a path for others to read and share in their lives.
I love Find A Grave and all the hundreds of contributors who take the time to post memorials for cemeteries. This site has become one of my first search engines and it is because of people like you that care enough to bring their life into the present, even though they have left this world for a better place long ago. Our ancestors deserve having their stories told, and I am proud to be just one of many storytellers.
You are doing an amazing job, and I thank you for caring!

Thank you for your time in finding the gravestones at the Union Cemetery in Brockton. It is a pleasure to work with you on the Copeland genealogy. I hope we can meet the next time I return to the area.

Thanks! I used your photo for a DAR application (and yes, I added a line that said "photos used with permission of Chip1560 (#46997557) at FindaGrave"). Thanks again!

Abraham and Cynthia Ashley
Chip, Thank you so much for posting grave photos of Abraham and Cynthia. This has helped me find a date of death that I never new for Abraham. Also where they were buried. I appreciate your effort. Carol.
