RE: Memorial Transfer
Joseph Walter is my GG Grandfather. His parents are John H. Mattingly and Martha Ellen Raley. Joseph Benjamin was one of Joseph Walter's sons. His other sons are buried elsewhere. Of his 4 daughters, one of them is buried in the family plot at Sacred Heart. She is Martha Ellen Owens. (Her husband is also there; James Benjamin Owens). James Clyde Mattingly's parents are John Donnelly Mattingly and Mary Evalina Pope (her family owned Pope's creek). John Donnelly is one of Joseph Walter's brothers. James Clyde married one of Joseph Walter's daughters, Grace Catherine, so Grace and Clyde were 1st cousins. Clyde died young from throat cancer so Grace remarried and is buried in Charles Memorial Gardens.

Memorial Transfer
Hi Dennis. Are you willing to transfer memorials? You have created a few that are in my family at Sacred Heart, including my Great, Great Grandparents.

Find a Grave Photo Requests
As part of my Eagle Scout Project I am fulfilling photo requests around Northern Virginia. I would like to fulfill your photo request for the person you listed for National Memorial Park, but I've already asked them to look up the locations of many people there. If you would be willing to call the cemetery (703-560-4400) and ask for the plot information on your request and relay that information to me today, Wednesday, or Thursday, we will go fulfill your request this Friday.

I would be happy to add it to her memorial.

Mattingly's at Sacred Heart

If you noticed in the pictures I added for William and Alice Mattingly there is a stone to the right; which is Julia Mattingly born 9/15/1887. Was wondering if you know was she their child?

RE: Lawrence W. Burke
Dear Dennis,
This morning I went to Prospect Hill and found Section B, Lot 63 where the Burkes are buried. Unfortunately none of those graves are marked. I posted photos of the lot; be sure to read the caption for details.

RE: Lawrence W. Burke
Dear Dennis,
Thanks for your note. No, actually I didn't go to the site because the Adult Burial List for Prospect Hill indicated that there was no marker. It's quite dependable, so I feel quite certain that no marker is there. But I'd be willing to look for the spot next time I'm there if you'd like. Also, it does seem that the other Burke's you were looking for are at Prospect Hill, but again there are no markers, which is strange. There is just one Burke who has one, Maggie Burke who was buried in 1899. I have scanned the page from the Adult Burial List and will send it to the hotmail address on your profile. Keep in mind that an asterisk indicates that the grave does have a marker. Best!
