I am 48 years old and have 3 children. Family history has always interested me. Find A Grave is a great way to help others learn more about their own family's past.|
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Thank you for adding gravestone photos for the Rudolph Schneider and Frank Weis families.
It might be worth watching to see if a permanent stone is added for Joseph Derrane once the weather improves in Rochester, but the existing photo is fine for now.
Thanks again for your help.

|Betty Miller||Mathias Hargather|
Judy, thank you so much for the information on Mathias Hargather--he was my great-grandfather. I've never seen his gravestone before. Louisa M. Dax was his wife, but we were always told she was from the Alsace-Lorraine area. I don't think there's a town named "Lorraine" in France--I'll have to check to be sure. Their daughter Agnes Hargather Kuebel, was my Grandmother.
