PLEASE do not take my photos (family pictures or grave photos) and use elsewhere, especially Ancestry, without my permission. There's personal family photos I've never even uploaded to Ancestry but have ONLY placed on Find A Grave that have been taken and put on other's Ancestry trees, and they aren't even related to us!! Really??????|
Most of my work is from "mowing the rows" in our local cemeteries or in those that are special to me when I get a chance to visit. I try to be very thorough in what I do post to this site. My favorite part of contributing to Find A Grave is walking the cemeteries and taking photos. ACCURATE cemetery documentation is very important, and this is why I do what I do.
I love to research and link families, and add biographical information - please use the Edit tab and send me any information you would like to have added, and I will add based on the rules for bios set in the Find A Grave FAQ's.
I transfer only within the four-generation
PLEASE carefully check the cemetery in which you want to list a memorial (it doesn't hurt to quickly check the county too) BEFORE you list it, as one may already exist for that person. Duplicate memorials for the same person, ("Dupes"), whether accidental or intentional, are not allowed by F-A-G. Duplicates erode the quality of this site and are problematic for many reasons. I will send you a friendly SAC if I see one.
It is very sad that quite a few contributors continue to misuse this site and post entries as permanent BURIAL UNKNOWN, both recent deaths and those 100 years ago or more.
This is Find A GRAVE, not a memorial site for generations of folks who have passed on and we do not know where they are buried, or for certain what happened to their remains.
I do not add entries for those with unknown dispositions (Burial Unknown) to Find A Grave. I also will not link my managed memorials to those without proper dispositions. Please do not link any BURIAL UNKNOWN entries to the memorials I manage; I will request the links to be removed if I become aware they have been linked.
PLEASE realize this is a GRAVES REGISTRATION SITE, not a place for you to build your family tree :) If you do not know where the person was buried, or the final disposition of the remains, you should not be listing the person on FIND A GRAVE.
The most recent FAQ's regarding the purpose of this site:
What is Find A Grave?
Find a Grave's mission is to find, record
and present final disposition information from around the world as a virtual cemetery experience.
Memorial contributions to Find A Grave should fulfill that mission - registration
of the final disposition. If the memorial contribution corresponds with only the
main mission,then the memorial fulfills its purpose as part of Find A Grave's mission.
Find a Grave memorials may contain rich content including pictures, biographies and more specific information. Members can
leave remembrances via ‘virtual flowers' on the memorials they visit, completing the virtual cemetery experience.
Find A Grave is a resource for anyone in finding the final disposition of family,
friends, and ‘famous' individuals.
Find A Grave is definitely a genealogical RESOURCE, but not a genealogical SITE..... There's a difference :)

Hi Karyn, Just waned to let you know the outcome since you were such a big help. The only info available was that the grave was purchased in 1977, no contract available. It is my understanding that this was prior to Liberty Mortuary purchasing Liberty Memorial Gardens.The gentleman that I've spoken with several times with was very responsive, nice and helpful. Bottom line, it will be up to me to pay for addition of the date of death plaque. It's pricey....evidently the cost of bronze is not inexpensive these days.. he did send me the quote from his vendor and will do it at cost. It's not likely that it would be in place prior to me going down in mid August so I plan to take care of it while down visiting. Thanks for your help. !!!

Karyn, I have been to both Pleasant View, not because I doubted my entry, but to make sure at the office he is actually buried there, he is. Went to Rest United Methodist Church Cemetery to see if maybe there is a duplicate stone there. There isn't.
So Can you help with this.
|Monte Harding||Duplicate memorial|
Karyn I have tried to contact the other contributor, however I know for a fact that the memorial in question is where I posted it because I did it and the photo myself. I am a few miles from the other cemetery and will be going there to verify there isn't another monument to this person, the cemetery is small and the monument will definitely standout.
|Nanny Lou||RE: Ruby Oline Fink|
A million thanks Karyn. You have no idea how appreciative I am for all your help. I see that you also added an additional photo for both Ruby and Marie !!
I just added a photo of Oline. As you'll see, the photo is damaged and not of great quality so I wasn't planning to post it. I'm so glad that you encouraged me to do so; It warmed my heart when I saw it on her memorial. I so wish I had a photo of Marie, but I do not.
I spoke with a very nice lady at Liberty Mortuary just a bit ago. The two gentlemen who would be able to assist me were both off site for the afternoon. She took all the info and said that one of them will contact me tomorrow.
My goal is to see if I can have the plaque added within a month which may very well be unrealistic but I at least want try.
I say month because I'm planning a "pilgrimage" to South Carolina. Until last year, I had underestimated the huge connection that my family had with South Carolina. I want to have a sense of where my ancestors came from and see their final resting places. Can't wait ! I'll keep you posted on my progress with the plaque.
Again, many thanks!!!!

Oh Karyn, Thank you so much !!!! if you were able to check to make sure that indeed there is not DOD date before I proceed, that would be wonderful !! I would be delighted to accept transfer for Oline's memorial. I also just sent same parental info to you to include for their sister, Marie and would be delighted to have that memorial as well. I am just so thankful that you have put the time into Find A Grave that you have ......I am deeply appreciative. Thanks also for the the thought to determine contents of the contract with regard to including DOD.

Payne gravesite video
The graves are at Welcome Cemetery. I took video this morning. See the video link above. I also have the video link on my profile page above my bio.

I am going to have to revisit these two cemeteries to get to the bottom of these duplicate memorials. According to the time and date stamps on the photos the stones are in both cemeteries, which is possible. It wouldn't be the first time I have run across two identical stones in different places. The Blocker Chapel cemetery photo time stamp matches the next photo take which is of my Aunt and Uncle Harlan and Louvenia Payne which I know is there. As far as Spring Branch in Arkansas I remember Payne stones being in this cemetery. The time stamp matches another photo but I could have gotten more than one is the wrong folder. I'll try to take a trip up there soon and fix this.

Re: Find A Grave Correction: Willie Payne
I have deleted this entry from Welcome Cemetery. The other contributor will have to decide where he took the photo.
