Photos I take belong to the people who ask for them. You are free to do whatever you wish to with them. I ask that they not be published on pay-to-view sites.
I want to thank everyone who has stepped up and offered corrections or taken transfers for the cemeteries I've been working, it's been a rewarding experience.
I am in the process of visiting all of Danvers cemeteries and ensuring they are fully catalogued. I am only posting fresh photos when I think mine are better or show something different. If you object, drop me a line and we can chat.
Currently working Walnut Grove, running at a rate of about 450 photos a week - "Mom" has done the hard work of filing memorials. At this rate we may be done by February. Corrections most welcome.
I do take breaks and handle occasional photo requests - if you have a location, that makes it a lot more tempting. It's a challenge to walk a large cemetery looking for two headstones and then have 4 more requests for the same cemetery a week later.
I trim my messages and only leave those that I need to do something about - I'm not hating you, just trying to use the messages to advantage. (Although I think I will keep the message from Billie forever - such an inspiration)
Complete: (Using Mass Vital Records numbering)
GR1 Wadsworth - added some 400 memorials and photos.
GR2 Nurse (checked - was complete)
GR3 Endicott (checked - was complete)
GR4 Preston (tucked away behind Putnam - added a few (NEEDS TO BE RE-DONE - MISSED A LOT)
GR5 Prince (catalogued and photographed)
GR6 Putnam (catalogued and photographed)
GR7 Russell (checked - added a few missing ones)
GR8 Porters Burying Ground (High street - added a few)
GR13 Hutchinson (catalogued and photographed)
GR14 (Tapley / Preston) Old Settlers - (Photographed)
GR15 Putnamville (checked - was complete)
GR16 Swin(n)erton (checked - was complete)
GR20 Buxton/Goodale (checked - was complete)
(GR7/Beverly in MVR) Leech/East Danvers (checked - was complete)
GR11 Walnut Grove - Starting with Section C - 56.7% photographed. I suspect we won't get past 70% for section C - lots of missing or buried headstones.
GR9 Holten - fair sized
Completely photographed. need to clean up 53 photos. ~1400 added to date.
Some of the photos are less than optimal. I've noted many of them to re-take, I trust I don't miss any - let me know if you find a horrible one that should be re-taken.
??? St Mary Sylvan St - moderate size, but Catholic, so every headstone has 20 names.
??? Xavierian (waiting for SJP to file obits to add remaining 200+ photos) - perhaps a student project?
??? Danvers State Hospital - finally found it!
??? Anshe Sfard - there are about 10 cemeteries back in those woods
??? Annunciation - Large
Defunct - exist in records, but not on the ground.
??? Potter's field (off Adams street, empty lot behind St Mary's, but no headstones)
??? Porter Cemetery (not on FaG, off locust street, near Connors farm) - Although I have seen recent clues as to a cemetery near here - it still evades me, but then the location given for Potter's field was way off.
GR17 Pedricks Cemetery (not on FaG) (behind the high school I suppose accessible from the Rail Trail, only has one headstone which I gather has since vanished)
GR10 Putnam (off Sylvan street, bodies moved to Porter's ca. 1920)
GR12 Jacobs private burial ground, Gardner's Hill (have not found)
GR21 Pope private burial ground, Pope's Lane, Danvers Centre (have not found - it should be back by Hutchinson) - but then it's a Peabody cemetery - so it has to be down the road.

|Bob on Gallows Hill||Berry transfers, etc.|
Turned custody of the Porter Berrys and Gen. Porter to you.
By the way, if you ever come across a connection between the Danvers Berrys and two who are buried in Salem's Howard Street ground give us a shout. I'm sure they are related, but have never found a connection.
I see it now. Her name on the stone is Marietta.

You have a picture of a monument for Mary Wallace.
She is not on the stone and not listed on the monument that Mom has made for that lot. Can you give me the info on how you know that is her stone?

I suspect they were exhumed and moved to Walnut Grove.
I've run into that a lot in Salem, finding stones for identical people in charter street and broad street. And then, finding stones for identical folks in Broad Street and Harmony Grove. I think it was fairly common, if you could afford it, to move already buried family to new digs (no pun intended) in a newer cemetery.

Are you sure you are looking at my memorials? Most of mine have the pictures as they are directly related to me. I did see some nice ones that MOM posted with the GPS information. Maybe you updated hers?

I've already made a bid to add him to the famous ranks, but it was rejected on the basis that he was just a local hero. They won't let me go to the well for a second try, but if you want to make an appeal in the forums, they might reconsider. That happened with my Fitz Henry Lane memorial. Meanwhile, I'll add all that great information you researched as soon as I can (coupla days). Thanks.
Thank you for the pictures! Eunice (Porter) Smith was the first wife of Philip Smith. She died August 9, 1853. Afterwards, he married 2nd wife Abigail (Pratt) Smith. Was there a marker for Eunice P Smith? Not sure who Lydia Daniel was. Is there a marker for her, too? I would appreciate pics of Eunice and Lydia's markers if they are available.
Again thank you for pics!

Thanks. None of those buried with him look familiar to me. I looked at the census records I had for him and saw none of those names as well. I will have to keep hunting. Looks like this is a large cemetery so maybe he still might be there.

That could be. I have him dying on Jan 12 1896. This has burial date as being a year later plus 2 days. Would you happen to know if a wife Susan may be near by? she died in 1871.
