Bio

"Every tombstone is a biography."

My grandparents got me interested in cemeteries as a child; trips into Paterson, NJ to decorate family graves was always an adventure and as a school teacher/principal Gramps never failed to teach me something about the markers in the cemetery. The stories were facinating and I've just always wanted to know more! The interest has carried over into something of an obsession! I do some work with Civil War cemeteries thru my job with the NPS. I like to visit cemeteries when I travel, and am interested in the symbolism and funeral practices of various cultures/religions. I also enjoy meeting and learning from people who share this interest!
