Bio and Links
Have about 200 thousand photos of mostly British Commonwealth war graves, some American, some German, etc. Check out my website at www.southafricawargraves.org . I don't have everyone's relatives headstone, but if it is a war grave I can steer you in right direction. Please check out the other war grave project links on my home page. My photos are free, and I ask for nothing in return, unless you plan to publish on a website then simply credit my name Ralph McLean and put a link to the South Africa War Graves Project on your site.

Photo requests? - learn these three words "CEMETERY...PLOT...NUMBERS". Making me do all the work of finding your loved one, is not part of the fun. Info people INFO!

While I don't usually have many records under my management, I'm more of a request filler, I will transfer what I do have to family.

Belgian war graves in South Africa
Hello Ralph,

I'm trying to find and create memorials for all Belgian Army personnel buried overseas. Would you happen to have photographs of any Belgian war graves in South Africa? I am looking for photographs of these men's graves;

*B. Blanckaert, buried in Maitland Cemetery (Cape Town)
*Cesar Lemort, buried in Plumstead Cemetery (Cape Town)
*Raoul Du Four, buried in Thaba Tshwane Old No.1 Military Cemetery (Pretoria)
*G. Dumonceau, buried in Thaba Tshwane New Military Cemetery (Pretoria)

Any help is welcome.

Hi,

Thank you for taking a photo of the Tablet of the Missing with my 2nd great uncle's name on it. He died very young and many of my relatives that would remember him have passed away, so this is helpful in capturing his legacy!

Cheers,
Scott

Re: Photo requests
Thank you so much for taking the tablet photos for Jack Hill, Manuel Davilla, Jack Gribi and Gerald Routledge. I appreciate all the hard work you are doing in honor of our service men who gave their lives for our freedom.

Do you also take photos of the graves? I have one more photo request at the Manilla Cemetery. It is for Nathan O.Z. Carter, memorial #56754780. He is in Plot:A, Row 14, Grave 105. I would truly appreciate a photo for him.

Thank you again, JC member #46996543

Many thanks
Thank you so much for the photo you provided for MM1 John Clark "Bill" Brennan who was killed serving during WWII aboard the USS Pillsbury DD-227. All veterans need to be remembered but especially those who died in service. Mary

Thank you for the photograph of his name on the Tablets of the Missing. Hopefully, this will stop those contributors who believe this memorial page is a duplicate of the cenotaph for him in the family plot in Texas. (It was merged once previously at a contributor's request).

Thank you so very much!
