I LIVE IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS & HAVE BEEN DOING FAMILY GENEALOGY FOR SEVERAL YEARS. |
I ENJOY TAKING PHOTOS OF HEADSTONES FOR OTHER FAMILIES WHICH ARE TOO FAR AWAY TO VISIT THE CEMETERY.
I ADD THE NEWSPAPER OBITUARY (WHEN POSSIBLE), WHICH IS A HELPFUL TOOL FOR FAMILIES WANTING INFORMATION ON A RELATIVE. BEFORE ADDING MY INFORMATION, I CHECK FIND A GRAVE VERY CAREFULLY AS NOT TO HAVE A DOUBLE ENTRY.
GREAT WORK IS BEING DONE WITH FIND A GRAVE. MANY FAMILIES HAVE A CHANCE TO RECONNECT WITH THEIR ROOTS.
(2010-2012) I HAVE WALKED, TRANSCRIBED, & CREATED NEW CEMETERY REFERENCE BOOKS FOR THE MOULTRIE CO. GENEALOGICAL & HISTORICAL SOCIETY. CEMETERIES I HAVE TRANSCRIBED ARE: GREENHILL, MASONIC HOME, FRENCH, GRAHAM CHAPEL, TURNER & KELLER. OTHERS ARE ON MY LIST OF 'TO DO'.
I AM WILLING TO MAKE TRANSFERS WITHIN THE 4 GENERATION "FIND A GRAVE" GUIDELINES WHICH ARE: Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-grandparents. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for EACH transfer. PLEASE STATE YOUR RELATIONSHIP TO THE DECEASED.
For EXTENDED FAMILY MEMBERS I will gladly make additions, corrections or links.
PLEASE USE the "EDIT" TAB on the upper right side of the memorial to send the information.

The cemetery is Greenhill Cemetery in Moultrie Co, Il. The memorial says created by Dorothy Butt, the photo says added by JMS. Is Dorothy who I should be in contact with rather than you? ~ Bert

|Memaw||Ruth Ann Fread|
I am very new at searching so forgive me if I am not doing this correctly. I believe that Ruth Ann Fread is the daughter of my 2xgreat grandfather Ferdinand Turner but the birth date on this memorial does not match other info I have found; family names do. I am having trouble reading the lower half of the stone, is it possible for you to tell from the original picture what it says? Thank you, first of all for the service you do for everyone and thank you for any help you can give me. ~ Bert Wilhelm

|Mike & Linn||RE: HEADSTONES|
To the best of my recollection we took photos of all headstones. Linn is a direct descendant of Mary and Zenas. There was no headstone for Mary (Cunningham) Prather. She remarried for a short time, but believe she still went by Prather after she was divorced from her second husband. Not sure about her daughter Mary.

Thank you for the photographs of the Hagerman tombstones. It is appreciated.
|D. Meserole||RE: Arthur Fox|
Sorry I was getting mixed up between the two Arthurs.
I took this from the cemetery book so not sure if there is a stone. I did take a lot of pictures in this cemetery but if there is a stone for this one I missed it.

Rec'd your message; currently on vacation; difficult sending messages out from Outlook. Will try to check the Goodwins out when I return home in a few weeks. Unfortunately, I recently got a new laptop and have not yet transferred all my files. I have the digital copies of all Marion Co. Gen Soc Quarterlies on my other computer at home. It's easy to do a search for a name in all issues at one time. If nothing found there I'll try to find an obit at the Genealogy Society library the next time I'm in Salem .
|janet donner||Bertha Gifford Tovey|
I am not sure why I used Hughes in her name. I did an ancestor book for my friend and bertha was a relative. Actually maiden name was Gifford and I Corrected this am. I cant find where her husband is buried. I have a copy of the Hewitt cemetery book and
I believe that is where I got my inform.
If I find anyhting on him will let you know
her name should have been Bertha Gifford Tovey
