|Panama Sue||Thank you|
I'm connected to one of the Civil War KIA's whose grave marker you photographed. You also left a detailed message about my ancestor's death and placement in the cemetery, and I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your work. I will be adding your notes to the book I'm writing for my children.

I am the gr-gr-granddaughter of Ransom. His great grandson was my father Barron Billings. I was wondering are you also connected to the Billings? I have just been re-united by mail with Barron and I am just learning about my heritage on the Billings side of the family. Sincerely, Cathy Marie Billings-Ouellette

I am looking for my great, great, great grandfather. In find a grave for James McCormack it does not say who his parent were or where he was born or his parents. I am hopeing I can get a clue.

I am sooo excited!!! This means so much to me!! I find it fascinating as well. I love researching my family history and I always ask my friends if I can work on theirs too, just for fun! It is so wonderful that you are honoring these soldiers by making sure they are not forgotten- thank you! As the wife of a U.S. Army veteran, I am very grateful to people like you who remember our servicemen and their sacrifice.
Thank you so much for contacting me! Indescribably elated right now!! :D

Hi Janet! So, Darwin's body has NOT been lost? He is really buried in Marietta Nat'l Cemetery? This is so exciting for me, as our family never knew anything about this ancestor, not even his name, until I started searching for him 14 years ago when I was still in high school. I am his descendant through his son Edwin. My husband and I recently visited Sally's (Darwin's wife) grave, which is in a cemetery not far from where we live. I always wished that we could find Darwin's grave because apparently Sally never knew what happened to her husband; but now we know and I feel so much more peaceful inside! I can't wait to go and visit his grave, hopefully someday soon! If you know of any other information on the POWs that were transferred, any books or resources I could read, can you let me know? Thanks so much Janet!!

Holy cow! This is a lot of information to take in! I was under the impression that he was at Magnolia this entire time! I am so excited to learn this!!! I am going to go look at your virtual cemetery and see if i can find the info on ancestry as well, and will write back to you soon. Thank you SO MUCH Janet!! This means the world to me!

Hi Janet! Wow!! Did you really find his gravestone? He was buried at Magnolia Cemetery. Another lady looked for his marker and didn't find it, so I had lost hope. He is actually not buried wherever the markers are located, but in a mass grave somewhere in the cemetery. The markers were erected later, this according to the cemetery director. Can you give me details? You didn't happen to take a photo, did you?? That would be so appreciated! Thanks for contacting me, Janet. (P.S. He was my 3x-great grandfather).

Hello - Adam Icenogle, #2984398, a Civil War soldier buried at Chattanooga National Cemetery, is an ancestor of mine. Could you transfer his memorial to me, please? Thank you.

Thank you, Janet. I have worked on Henry for many years, and it is a relief that he can be linked to his mother and Iowa family. Thanks for the work you do. Jane
