 | RE: Elsa Ray - Elsie Gossett Thank you for your efforts--seems to mer to be asbove the call of duty. The weather has been so weird this year, Winter has held on here longer than it ever has. We have had two freezes in May--seldm do we ever get one a wuinter here in north central Oklahoma. Don't take any chances when going to the cemetery.
I do appreciate you trying to find these graves.
Thank you, LoydAdded by Loyd on May 05, 2013 10:05 AM | | | Smilydino
 | RE: Jessie Gard Thanks for the transfer and the news about the cemetery cleanup. I was looking for a Boy Scout troop close that may like the project as a Eagle Badge project. Now I don't have to worry. I'll put in the photo request for grandma. Thanks again.

 | RE: Dr Homer Bowers Thanks so much for the reply! I have family photos of the house and of the family there and hanging out at Racoon Creek. When I'm feeling better and the weather matches, I'll drive out to find more info. It's probably one of the corner houses near the cemetery itself.
Do you have roots in New Ross, or Montgomery County? I'm doing the genealogical math on the Bowers and Walker families. I'm looking for any and all anecdotes, facts and suspicions to put it all together.
Thanks again for taking the time out. Enjoy the remaining snow!

 | Indian Creek Hill Cemetery Thank you for the photo you took of Indian Creek Hill Cemetery in New Market. Several of my ancestors are buried there and I was wondering if I could have your permission to use it on my family tree on Ancestry.com? Of course I will credit it to you.
Many thanks,

 | RE: Elsa Ray - Elsie Gossett I have been researching my family for 25 years, and and patience is definitely needed for all researching, none more than this family. So, whenever you can find information, and whatever information you obtain is greatly appreciated. And, I definitely don't want to put you in harms way to find more about Franklin, Elsa Armilda, and Presley.
This Ray family is one of the big genealogical mysteries I have. A large family that came to Indiana from North carlina in about 1941. Frsnklin is the Brother of my 2nd Great-grandmother Marinda Jane Ray Wilson. The next to the youngest child, at five, she and her siblings were orphaned. The children's ages ranged from five to twenty years old. The younger ones were made wards of friends and relatives. I have had quite a adventure putting the famioy back together. The father, Presley, Came to Boone County, IN where his estate was probated. Family lived in Hendricks County, also. There is the Clinton County connection, too, and I think that Hutson Ray, also buried in Baker County, is a cousin descended from Presley's twin brother Chesley Ray.
I note both of your mothers passed on this past year. I know the hurt of this kind of loss, but the love for our parents never fades. That lasting love is what helps us through the rest of this adventure called life.

P.S. my Ancestry Tree is "Bishop and Padgett Ancestors," It is closed right now, but if you would like, I will send you an invitation to view the tree. After I joined Ancestry in early 2012, I discovered there were so many errors and undocumented branches on the tree, I didn't want the mis-information spread. Send me a request through Ancestry, I wull respond. lmbAdded by Loyd on Jan 06, 2013 9:51 AM | | | Loyd
 | Elsa Ray - Elsie Gossett Elsa Scircle was first married to Doctor F. Ray who died of battle wounds in Civil War. He is buried in Baker Cemetery. (Dr. F. Ray Find A Grave Memorial# 44309028) There is a grave for her next to him. However, she is probably the Elsie C. Gossett and is buried nearby Dr. James Gossett. (Your Find A Grave Memorial# 10194956)
Dr. F. Ray was named Franklin Ray, but Doctor was a nickname that seems to have been adopted as a given name. Is there a marker on Dr. F. Ray's grave? Is it a civil war head stone?
Dr. and Elsa had two children, Armilda and George Presley Franklin Ray (probably known as Presley) who apparently died before 1870. He might be buried in the grave next to Dr. or his dughter Armilda Ray Floyd who died (divorced?) before 1883 when Mr. Floyd married 2nd Cynthia Bell Gossard.
This is a comoplicated way of asking are either Pressley or Armilda buried at Baker Cemetery. Who, if anyone, is buried in the plot next to Dr. F. Ray? thanks, LoydAdded by Loyd on Jan 05, 2013 1:57 PM | | | Dawne Shumate
