Nelson Sims
Hi,
I was just wondering if you were related to Nelson. If so could you share any information.
I believe he is related to my husband. I am trying to see where or if they do connect.
Thanks,
Vivian

James F
29th Ohio burials on the field at Pine Knob, Ga.
Hello Janet,

I wrote a book about the 29th Ohio Infantry published by the University of Ohio. The book is titled "The Untried Life." I am now working on a follow up book. I'm curious to know where you found the information about the condition of the grave(s) of the regiment's fallen at the Battle of Pine Knob, Ga. in June 1864. The soldier you had mentioned lying with this group was Thomas Davis. He is buried at Marietta National. Your reply to this would be much appreciated---James Fritsch. My email is jamesfritsch@earthlink.net

Samuel M Hanlon's memorial
Janet,
Thank you so very much for notifying me. In the process I corrected Oliver's memorial as well. I have sent the links to Samuel's parents and will remove the duplicate memorial as soon as he is linked. Working together is the best way to get these things right.

RE: Corp James Adams
I'm unable to find the CWSS Compiled Service Record you have listed in the bio for James. Would you be able to tell me how or where to find it. Do you have a copy that you can email back to me? CHRISBENGE@aol.com I have his Individual Civil War Soldier Index Record, one anyway and the information it provides is:
Name: James Adams
Residence: Camp Burnside, Kentucky
Enlistment Date: 02 Nov 1862
Rank at enlistment: Private
Enlistment Place: Camp Burnside, Kentucky
State Served: Kentucky
Service Record: Enlisted in Company A, Kentucky 32nd Infantry Regiment on 15 Apr 1863.
Sources: Report of the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky

RE: 85th IL soldier
Hi Janet, thanks for going the extra mile and trying to idenitfy this soldier. He is actually Lorenzo D Gould. His grave probably would have remained a mystery if not for his blurb in the History of the 85th book.
Thanks for your dedication, time, and hard work!

Thanks for that quick action in adding the additional Civil War info. I requested a merge where you keep the credit because I heard? we're not supposed to delete dupes because of broken links. There are some tokens that will be moved when the powers that be can get to it.

Thanks for the help,
Bernadette

Corp. Redman Moyer
Hi Janet ~ thanx so much for linking the parents of Corp. Redman Moyer, from info sent to you by SMPowell, which I had relayed to her.
It's so nice to be able to work with such wonderful people to get the families 'united!'

Reply to Question
The marker #O 4233 has nothing but the plot number and is unusual, of course, because it is not the standard "unknown" marker used in that section and all those near by.

RE: Chattanooga National Cemetery
I have an old book downloaded on pdf. on page 616 "History of the Twenty-Seventh Indiana" I found a John B. Clapsaddle, sixth corporal, wounded at Antietam, mustered out with regiment. He was on the original Roster of Company I.
I hope this helps
