"I will show you fear in a handful of dust." T.S. Eliot|
We are not so much afraid of dying, as we are of no one remembering we existed at all.
We only walk this earth because of the people before us. Every name is a memory to a life, not just a branch in a tree. Sometimes all that echoes through time is a name, a date, a relationship, a headstone. But bringing those things together here is remembering the person who lived, and I am proud to be a part of this community of volunteers who spend their free time to send the message "you have not been forgotten"
Still active as of November 2014. If you have any information to add to any memorials I have created please let me know but use the EDIT- SUGGEST A CORRECTION feature. Please also use this feature when inquiring about a specific memorial, the comments section below is not helpful in directing me with a link to see what you are talking about.
PROCESSING EDITS: I know about the feature, but I don't blindly click all. Have patience, I will get to it, but I do check- I will also look for an obituary for you if its here in Oregon. So have patience, check back when you get the email, it might be worth a look.
DO YOU KNOW? Find A Grave will automatically process all untouched edits after 3 weeks. Yep. that contributor who's been ignoring your requests for years didn't just finally get with the program.
DO YOU KNOW? if you mess up a submission you can go to your own edits page, use the drop down menu to find edits you have submitted, find the edit you did and delete and redo if it hasn't been processed. Pretty Nifty if you ask me. Edits on Find A Grave are finally happening and they have fixed some of the flaws from the initial launch.
PHOTOS: I took the photo to help you! If you would like any of the photos I have taken for your own family tree, you are welcome to them. If its a family photo I added though, please contact me! I don't mind sharing, I have a public tree on ancestry.com that I will give you directions to for more photos (if I have them). Our ancestors should be remembered by all who want to preserve a piece of who they were. My collection is the work of many who believed in saving photos of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents they never knew and then taking the time to share them with me. As we pass through this world, I feel better knowing my ancestors wont disappear and pictures forgotten if multiple people from all over have the key.

You're very welcome.

Erin, Thank you for taking the time to record all of our loved ones. To help you, I wanted to add;
Mountain View Cemetery, Oregon
There is a recorded error on my Brother-in-law's Mom for the year of birth. As you have pictured the front of her space in the mausoleum, her year of birth was Aug 30, 1917 in Lovelock, Nevada. If you would please change this for future family that might try and find her, I would be grateful. Thank you again for your work of love. Debby da3chase

Meade Woodson Carlisle is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, Erie County, New York. His Find A Grave # is 111233966. Please delete your memorial for him. I'm a relative and the monument has all the sibling names, not necessarily where they are buried. I have also left two like requests on your memorial for Meade.

Erin, I've posted a copy of your photo of the vault plaque taken in 2014 for my aunt and uncle, Mary and "Morry" Anderson to their pages in my family tree on Ancestry. You are credited as photographer and donor, and thanks so much for taking such a good photograph.

Thank you for the T.S Eliot quote.
Your words of wisdom as part of your Bio, left me a bit choked up you have given words to the way I feel about my Aunt Patricia and her brother Curtis #105967139.
Is there a way that I can clean up Patricia's posting at Lincoln Memorial Park?
As you can see I have tried to connect her to every family member that I could find on Find A Grave. Made it a bit of a mess. I really don't know what I'm doing.
Any help from anyone would be appreciated

I'm doing a photo project in Lincoln Memorial Park mausoleum, and have photographed the crypt for John M. Hodges and his wife, Martha. If you have photos you would rather use, or don't like the ones I uploaded, please contact me and I'll remove mine.
