TRANSFERS: I will be happy to transfer management of memorials that fall under the guidelines of Find A Grave rules. Please include your relationship to the deceased. Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. We are more than happy to make corrections and add information for you.
*** Remember that you can use the "Virtual Cemetery " feature to keep your family "together" ***
REQUESTS FOR corrections, additional information, or transfers: PLEASE do so with the Suggest A Correction (SAC) link on the memorial for that person. (Memorials will have an 'Edit' tab on the upper right side of the memorial. Click on the 'Edit' tab, then click on a 'Suggest a correction' link on the Edit page.)
NOTE: Every effort has been made to transcribe information accurately. These records MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. Any corrections and/or additions greatly appreciated. As with any genealogy information, this is only a source and should be considered as such. It is up to the researcher to verify the accuracy.

Thank you for passing on the obits, I had been searching for them but was having no luck.

Thank you Donna. I do understand. I did not know the advantages of this site until recently. I do plan to be more active with only my close relatives. I am not interested in many sites, but any inquiries might be better sent to me because I do know the family history. I do appreciate what you have done and you are doing a service for many families, just in this case I would like to manage my grandmothers site. I fully believe that would be what she would want too. Again, thank you.

Sorry, I never checked that message. Mary's name is Mary Elizabeth Mayes Roberts, not Mary Blackmon.
Thanks for your help.

This is the original obit: It was taken from the Moore Funeral Chapel obits in Arlington, Tx. Doesn't
state where she is from.

We didn't know that this person existed and would like to see the gravestone. So you know where in the cemetery the grave is located?
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Not sure what Brown Water Navy is but I would guess maybe river boats. If has not already done so he should record his service on the US NAVY portion of togetherweserved.com website. Welcome Home back at you!

Again, thanks for responding.
Yes, I have a huge version of my father's HAMMONDs and STRICKLANDs. And then I also have my mother's MONEYs and JOHNSONs etc, etc. all in ancestry.com. Do you have access to it? It is a great place to search and store and create versions of research.
Of course, each family tree is only as good, or I should say, as correct, as the records, and the verification of accuracy. But ancestry.com is a great starting place, and a good place to store possibilities. And it's easy to correct or remove people and records, if you discover an error.
If you don't mind, would you respond to me with my email: email@example.com
I can write and do better in that format, and not in this messaging on FindAGrave.

Thanks for responding. Hope I didn't offend with my questions/concerns. I agree that all duplicates in FindAGrave need to be resolved. And indeed, it seems someone has acted accordingly. I now see that only #60197654 is posted for "Mattie Pauline", and now do not find duplicates for parents C.E. and Leola.
As I mentioned previously, we are related. You are I are 3rd cousins. It seems our Grt Grandfathers (mine- Elijah Phillip Strickland, yours - John W. Strickland) were brothers and sons of Andrew Jackson Strickland (181-1880). I notice that your Grt Grandfather John W., and our Grt Grt Grandfather Andrew J., both died in 1880, a few months apart. I grew up in Chattooga CO. GA. and live very near where Andrew J. and son Elijah Phillip and other Stricklands are buried. Been to those cemeteries many times searching for others. In fact there are several Strickland relatives who disagree about Andrew J's father. Some believe him to be Sion, and I currently have Reuben. SO the search is still in progress.

John Strickland #17988515
The information you sent from Ancestry appears to belong to Stephen Daniel Strickland and not John Strickland. I am not finding a memorial for Stephan Daniel on Find A Grave. I am not sure what you are asking me to do with the information. If there is memorial for Stephen or if you add one let me know and I will link John to Stephen.
Stephen Daniel Strickland is his father. You already show that. I thought you could work some more information into the "Bio" section for the parents of John Strickland...We may never find his grave, but can show some information about him on his son's Find A Grave...???
I myself have often done this.
