Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been able to visit my ancestor's grave that someone had posted. I probably will never get to visit in person, so I appreciate that "proxy" visit you provided.

On my memorials, I include the parents' names and place of birth if I can find them, as it certainly can help knowing which "John/Jane Doe" it is. I also like to add a title such as "Rev." or "Dr." to a memorial if appropriate, as it can save time in doing a search with 45 names all the same, in same state. I see some with titles on the tombstone, yet it is not entered with the name (perhaps the photo was added later...is a guess.)

I honor veterans (all wars) with a flag, or floral tribute, especially if they don't have one.

I welcome information or a correction to a memorial. I usually don't edit or check to be sure it is accurate, nor do I act as judge and jury over whether to add it. Check it if you doubt it. On memorials I contribute, I try to check the state and other records to assure it is accurate, but still I make mistakes. Use the white Edit tab at right top of the memorial. I will transfer a memorial if you are a relative, but I'd expect you to transfer if someone else asks you and they are closer kin.

My Family names I research: Vance/Sinclair, Yarbrough/Ellis/Young, Montgomery/Posey, Barnett/ Reynolds; Yandell/Sparks, Lee/Durham, Ward, Powell/Weaver.

THANKS:
With the "new edit" method, I don't always write a 'thank-you' nor do I expect one. We all have plenty to do to keep up. BUT, be assured that I do APPRECIATE any addition/correction, or PHOTO REQUEST you fulfill for me. Please accept this as my thanks for your efforts.

I saw your comment on the memorial of Rebecca Witherell Nichols in The Center Cemetery, Chesterfield. I have recently photographed her headstone and uploaded it to the memorial in case you would like to have a look. Jim

Thanks!

I have recently caught the gravestone photo bug, after using Find A Grave for years for my own geneology research. I live in Henniker, and decided I needed to "do" the Henniker Cemetery.

Be glad to transfer or post anything.

RE: Elvira (Stell) ?

Winnie ...

Thanks again for the tip.

Your suggestion has forced me to re-visit the research attempt regarding Stell ancestry; and I did uncover some additional, long hidden details about my g-g-grandmother's immediate family; but, alas, I still have not found the missing piece to the Elvira Stell puzzle.

The M E Stell - W F Holcomb marriage to which you refer was solemnized December 1, 1870, and was filed in Gonzales Co, Texas. M E Stell was Mariah Exer Stell (also called Maria but most records call her Mariah), a daughter of Japtha Warren Stell and Elizabeth Phillips born in Jackson Ph, Louisiana, in either 1849 or 1850. She died in 1913, in Luling, Caldwell Co, Texas, followed by William F Holcomb in 1922. There are Find A Grave Memorials ... #61132519 & #61132586, respectively; and two children, Mae Stell Holcomb & Clarence Malone Holcomb are at rest nearby.

RE: S. Manuel Baugh, TX
Hi there! Well I don't know if there is any connection or not. My associated names (per census) seem to originally come from Georgia, then Alabama, then over here to Texas; first being in East TX, then into central and western TX regions. The earliest couple I have is William Baugh b. abt. 1812 & wife Susan unkn b. abt. 1822, both from Georgia. She died in Nacogdoches Co 1857. My descendants from them ended up (primarily) in Llano, Edwards, Burnet, Blanco, Kimble, Bell counties (TX hill country areas). I'm sure there are extended branches out there that I've not yet discovered.

I noticed that his wife's maiden name was Yarbrough. I have Yarbrough/Yarborough names who were associated with Pounds and in turn married into my Collins names.
