I am a retired accountant. I've been doing genealogy for about 15 years, working with my sister. I love to camp and my husband and I go out as often as possible.

If anyone finds a mistake in any of my entries, please let me know so I can correct it. I would appreciate supporting documents with these corrections. If you have any additional information, I would be happy to add it.

I have added all available photographable tombstones in Big Adkins Cemetery, Eugene Township, Carroll County, Missouri. There were several very old sandstone tombstones that could not be cleaned and read. If you find one that is your ancestor, let me know and if it isn't also mine, I will be happy to transfer it to you.

Don't ask me for transfers or to make changes that aren't verified if you don't have an e-mail address or allow public postings on your own page. If I can't verify certain info or you don't care enough for me to be able to explain my own actions--or lack thereof, then don't ask in the first place.

RE: Emmanuel Bittle
You are welcome. Honestly, adding the headstone picture was an afterthought. I had taken my two young girls there to explore and appreciate history. My father had taken me to this site over 20 years ago and I was always fascinated by it. It is sad it has been forgotten. When I went there all those years ago, there were quite a few headstones and markers. Yesterday, I was sad to see there are very few left. My guess is people have removed them or destroyed them over the years. I did not see any other Bittles. Of the few remaining headstones, several can not be read anymore.

There are no private property signs. The cemetery is located on top of a very steep hill on the southwest corner of Old Atherton Road and where the train tracks by the sewage treatment plant cross the road.

James W. Pelly
Found a grave out in a field today in Pellyton. Reads as follows: James W. Pelly Son of H & E Pelly. June 29, 1817. Nov 20, 1865. (I think it's James Madison Pelley, but I'm not sure.) Also, many slave stones. Not finding enough luck on, please advise. Thanks.

RE: Blanche (Roseberry) Allomong
Yes, I have one for Wm Carleton & Blanche as well as one for Wm & Frankie. Will try to get them up soon. I have to scan them as I took these back in 2001 or so. I can also tell you parents so that you can link Blanche up. Makes it nicer/easier to find photos.
Are you a descendant of Rachel or Margaret? Would love to compare/trade some info.

Joshua Null
I searched the entire cemetery and did not locate a headstone for Joshua Null. I did take a picture of Henry Null's headstone. He was the only Null that I located. I will post that photo.

Caroline & William Miller

I noticed both of our memorials were duplicated by the same person so I kindly asked them if they would add the headstone photos to our memorials respectively. Thanks for the heads up! Kym

Mary Patton Fultz
Hi, my name is Theresa Brown and I just want to thank you for posting the picture of Mary and Martin Foltz headstone. Mary was first married to William Alec Rush. They were living in Philo at the time of his death, April 9, 1909. Several years later she married Gus Foltz. William was my great great uncle. Thank you so much for all your work!

Hi I am related to the Sheehans (Brocks, Standleys, Shinns, Lanhams etc). On, you have Cecil listed as a child of William Logan Sheehan and Laura Elizabeth Brock Sheehan, and he was actually the child of Luther Loran Sheehan and Sophia Lee Hart.

Also, Luther Loran Sheehan is the son of William Logan Sheehan and Laura Elizabeth Brock (my greatgrandfather). Luther was born 3/23/1877 in Carroll Co., MO and died Oct 2, 1919 in Collinsville, Tulsa, OK. He married Sophia Lee Hart b: Dec 2, 1879 Carroll Co., MO and died Sep 13 1940. They are both buried at Ridgelawn Cem in Collinsville, Tulsa, OK.

And other children of William and Laura are:
Nessie, 5/15/1886.

Thanks, Pamela Kauffman Reimer Smith

June, you created memorials for a number of my ancestors and apparently your husband is a distant cousin of mine. I'm beginning to add memorials to Find A Grave myself and hope you won't mind collaborating with me. Your entry for Mary Elizabeth Blackwell Bruton gives a date of death of 1861 whereas my info has 1869 (I presume 1861 came from grave marker). I am descended from Mary Elizabeth from her first marriage to Rev. John Hale(s). I created a memorial for him which contains biographical info on Mary E. I have also created memorials for her parents #81632682 and #81634710 - hope you will link her to these three. She was also mother of Sarah (Hale) Standley (wife of Ingram) and John Blackwell Hale, twice US Congressman from Missouri. Thanks, Mark Hale

William Henry Adkins
Hi June - I tried to photograph William Henry Adkins' stone yesterday in Elmwood Cemetery, Mexico, MO. I believe it has fallen over & is face down, but not 100% sure. There was a Stella Adkins buried next to this stone. I created a memorial page for her. I found a death certificate for an Elizabeth Stella Adkins in Saline County, and the dates matched. However, according to the DC, burial was in another cemetery. I'm a little suspicious of the accuracy of the DC.

My e-mail is if you'd like to contact me, I can send the pic of the overturned stone. Again, certainly not 100% sure it is William Henry's. Would his wife, Rhoda Jane Hall Adkins be on the same stone? According to City Hall, she is not in Elmwood, but I see on her DC that Elmwood is listed.
