I have always been interested in the old gravestones at the Egg Harbor City Cemetery and enjoy recording and photographing them for future generations. I think this project I've undertaken is a very important part of the city's history & beneficial to those searching their family heritage. Little did I know it would become a very inspiring hobby. I am also in the process of researching my mother's family history, but with not much success at the current time.|
I enjoy photography, NASCAR, reading, baking, scrapbooking and bead crafts (when I have time!) & spending time with my family & my rescue beagle, Shiloh.
I'm proud to be associated with friends at the Egg Harbor City Historical Society. Visit their website at: www.ehchs.org.
I am working with fellow Find A Grave member, Mark Maxwell & Dennis Kolb on recording Atlantic County interments & specifically the Egg Harbor City Cemetery.
Was Find.A.Grave. County Keeper for Atlantic County, NJ, but I don't believe that effort is currently in existance by Find A Grave administration at this time.

|Tikibarb||Krebs - Egg Harbor Cemetary|
George Krebs was married to Magdalena Krebs (1832-1913). I have no info on the other two Krebs though I am guessing they are related somehow. If I do identify them in my search, I will let you know. Thanks again. Barb

Hey Kathleen,Hope your doing well today.Didnt have the nerve to knock on their door to ask permission?LOL I know I would have LOL.I went to the old Powell-Chew house this past weekend and the house is now two houses and someone lives there.I heard the lady that lives across the street owns them.I knocked on all 3 doors and no answer.I said oh well and walked in the backyard to get to the Powell-Chew graveyard.Even had a sign on a tree back there NO TRESPASSING That didn't stop me either LOL.But the gravestones were so old couldn't make out 3/4 of them.And didn't see not 1 Chew gravestone.Lol And your very welcome.Would love to help you out in anyway.One crazy graveyard hunter to another LOL Well thank you for the reply.I have to take the trip to the grave yards.I want to get my very own pictures.I have about 70 graveyard Files of people I have on my tree.
That must be so heart breakin not to go anymore.That would just floor me.I think I would craw there if I had too.I do it every weekend if the weather is ok.Sorry about not going anymore.If you ever need a gravestone picture and I'm heading near there just throw the names at me.It would be a honor to do it for you.This weekend I think I'm going to Old broad street cemetery in Bridgeton and then to lower banks to the Johnson cemetery.If you ever need to talk just give me a call my number is on my home page on find a grave.Talk to you soon.Keep in touch.Thanks for the e-mail

I have to make a trip to both of these spots also.But they look easy to get too.Right now I have been searching all over south jersey for the HUGE Chew Family.So far I have about a Thousand of them.I have drove so many miles each weekend.And of course my mom and sister thinks I'm nuts.LOL They just don't get it.But I enjoy finding the old stones and coming home and putting the picture with their profile.It keeps me busy since my girlfriend of 12 years died.Very bad health. I hope you had a nice 4th of July.If you find any old Chews let me know.Lol Take care
