Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.
I have been an active contributor on this site for over 14 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.
Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.
If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches. Just a hint, most people will not respond to your liking when bullying tactics are used.
If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.
Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.
I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.
Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.
RE: SELA Veterans Cemetery When I first started photographing I had up to 99% photographed. In fact, same day photographing 3 funerals were going on. If I would of known of the military site & how to use it, I would of had everything updated. Will be in the area this coming Thursday, will have to play by ear with this nasty weather we've been having.
SELA Veterans Cemetery Thank you for adding the additional memorials for our deceased military veterans. It nearly freaked me out to see 300+ memorials added on April 21st. I called Daniele @ SELAVC to find out what was going on. She explained to me how you may of gotten the names. Gee, as a veteran myself, I wish I had known about the database & added them myself in order to increase my numbers. I will be adding tokens to the memorials based on their military timeframe. Daniele also told me she was taking photos also, I need to get back over there & take photos too. Thanks again for all you do for Find A Grave!
RE: Thomas Hume # 56617579 Someone else had sent me a photo and I could not add it because to the others that were there. I personally work with a Hume descendant who may appreciate having a copy of your photo, thanks.
Joseph Loubat Thank you for adding a portrait photograph of Joseph Florimond Loubat to his memorial #152740126 created by me. I researched him after seeing the bust of him at the museum in Delos, Greece. If you are interested in him and his father, I can transfer their memorials to you. Ronald Decker, Chicago
Curtis Taylor, Jr Is this my friend Curtis Taylor who used to leave sweet little notes for my family members here on findagrave? Ive been missing seeing him online now for a few years. If this is indeed him Im sorry to hear of his loss. He seemed like a nice person.
