Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.

I have been an active contributor on this site for over 14 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.

Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.

If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches. Just a hint, most people will not respond to your liking when bullying tactics are used.

If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.

Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.

I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.

Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

Warm regards,
Joan

Thank you Joan for posting this burial. I have attempted to verify just where her grave is located and could not do so. Long distance just doesn't get it done. Rosie was the first wife of my Father's oldest brother, James Radicke Redus. They have one daughter who still lives in San Antonio. Do you have a location in the cemetery for her grave?

Wow, that really helps. So it is not the same person. They were living in Fort Worth in 1895 when her last child was born. With the article saying she had lived in San Antonio for the last 17 years would eliminate Mrs. C. M. Baker of San Antonio as my great-grandmother. All three of my great-grandmother's children were born in Fort Worth beginning in 1890. So, the Mrs. C. M. Baker buried in San Antonio is not Martha G. Cockrum. I need to get back to TX to see if I can find her grave, although I have absolutely no idea where to look. But, I believe she passed away in Fort Worth. Thank you so very much for finding the obit. I will correct my date of her death. I do suspect she died in that year based on what I found. Charles M. Baker had a painting business in San Antonio for some years and lived just down the street from the Cockrum's when they married in 1887. Again, thank you so very much for your help. I really appreciate it.

RE: City Cemetery #4, San Antonio
at this point, I am only guessing that this is the correct grave. I have a gap in information that leads me to believe I could be incorrect. I know that the death date fits (except I did not have the exact date but the year is perfect) and I know that she lived in San Antonio for many years, but just prior the family was living in Fort Worth. By 1900 census, the remaining family was in Alabama as the 3 small children was being aided by the paternal grandmother. The 1900 census shows CM Baker to be widowed as well. Where does the birth date you have come from? Cemetery records? I show that she was alive in 1870 census and being a year old making the birth year 1869 and not 1871. I believe her parents are buried in San Antonio (last name would have been Cockrum as her father was LR Cockrum and her mother's first name was Sallie) So, that being said, if I can find the graves of her parents in San Antonio, then I can figure for sure this is her. Her maiden name was Martha G. Cockrum. I would hate for you to post that until I am sure. Please let me know your thoughts.

Yes, his parents names are John George (J.G is on the headstone) and Anna Katherina (on her headstone). If you look at her memorial, Reinhard's memorial is linked in the bio. But thank you for being thorough, if in doubt. . .

I think you may have declined my grave memorial suggestion & I appreciate your rapid feedback!!
Its not my intent to disagree with you but rather to correct any bad information I may have. I've been working on the Ferguson's in LA for a while & it sometimes gets confusing. Some of the information I have on Robert L & wife Laura Roberts came from L. C. Ferguson (12389751)who informed me that they were his parents. Some other information he provided was not too reliable but hopefully he would properly identify his parents.
Can you help me? What was the bad information I offered in my edit? Do you have additional information on the Ferguson's in LA that you can share? Any help would be greatly appreciated but understand if I'm asking too much.
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
