RE: Marie Azelie Arceneaux
Good morning!

The pages that I have are the index pages out of the actual GC CH funeral register; they're not transcription, they're the index pages.

The actual entry in the book, like most of the book, is in French. I didn't shoot the pages because of that and because it's a 400 page book. That's a lot of pictures!

However, I wouldn't change the date on this if I were you either. The dates are done in blocks of people rather than on each line in the index.

I'm shooting the cemetery, or at least I've started on it. There may be more edits coming but I'm sure it will take me the rest of the summer to shoot it. I'll do my very best not to make any incorrect edits or duplications but a cemetery of this size is harder to handle. I'll do my best, but feel free to help keep me on track! Ha!

Worthington obit - burial in Rock Creek Cemetery DC
Hi -

I have passed this obit for Rebecca Britton Worthington onto the memorial owner, but thought you might be interested:

Date: Thursday, January 12, 1939 Paper: Evening Star (Washington (DC), District of Columbia) Page: 12

Mrs. Worthington, 97, Widow of District Leader, Dead - Daughter of Classmate Of Grant Recalled Lincoln's Death
---
Mrs. Rebecca Britton Worthington, widow of Charles Worthington, a member of one of the city's oldest families, died yesterday at her home in the Toronto Apartments in her 97th year.
Mrs. Worthington had been a resident of Washington since the Civil War, and one of the keenest pleasures of her later years was to describe the historic events she had witnessed here during a long and active life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Worthington was born at Tampa, Fla., while her father Capt. Forbes Britton, a classmate of Gen. Grant, was in Florida with an Army unit helping to put down an uprising of the Seminole Indians.
The former Miss Britton was living in Texas, where her father was stationed, when she met Mr. Worthington while he was on a hunting trip. Mr. Worthington married her in 1860. The couple planned to live in the West, but changed their minds when the Civil War broke out.
Planning to return to Washington, Mr. Worthington found the usual routes blocked by the embattled armies. He took his bride to Mexico. Later they sailed for New York from Tampico in a small sailing vessel, which was four weeks at sea.
The couple arrived in Washington just before the assassination of President Lincoln. Mrs. Worthington retained a clear memory of this tragedy and other momentous events in the history of the young and growing Capital.
Mr. Worthington died about 20 years age. His family came here from Annapolis and settled in Georgetown before the District of Columbia was laid out as a Capital City.
Mrs. Worthington is survived by two daughters, Miss Eliza P. Worthington and Mrs. Elizabeth Trescott, both of Washington; two grandchildren, Mrs. Philip Torrey of Philadelphia and Mrs. G. Wade Martin of Washington and three great-grandchildren.

OMG!

Sebastian. I looke at the larger size of that photo. and said, "O-M-G," out loud.

Then, I made my husband come look at it and tell me what he saw....

Immediatley, he said, "That's me in the middle (back.)"

Not just a little like him, but EXACTLY like him when he was younger.

Boy, I will definitely do a retouch/restore for you now!

RE: Enoch Carrier and Leonie (Nézat) Carrier
Thanks, Sebastian.

I realized they were sibs, and you helped.

I now have two friends, and getting ready to work on another to link to me. Also working on that Csstille/Cstel/COstales/Menendes/Cenal/Garcia line. My friend has then back to Spain and, Argentina.

I am still not clear how it all comes together with the Thibodeau/Broussard/Landry group with Rose Osite (Landry) Broussard, Castille, Landry woman. I will get there eventually. As of now, made a chart in Adobe Ilustrator so I can move boxes around as I sort them all out.

I have added Melissa on my page, who has two sibs in one family married two sibs in another, both of them our descents of St. Cyr and Olinde family.

Thank You
I just wanted to send you a general thank you for everything you've done for the genealogy community. It's amazing how much one person can do and you've done a lot. I truly appreciate the effort. Best wishes.

Pleased to meet you!
I am a descendant of Francis Lewis & Elizabeth Addison Siau, and I see you have left a flower on her grave. Thank you:)

I see that many people seek information from you, and I apologize that I am going to be much the same. I have run into a dead end with Francis - have found a brief reference to his father as Louis, but no other information. Do you have any information or ideas? I understand not wanting to give away a tree, but I would be thrilled with a hint on where I should look.

If you don't have any more on Francis or Louis, or don't care to share, I appreciate your time!

Thank you. You could message me here, or at jeminijad@yahoo.com.
