Bio and Links
Bio Photo I see there are other Find A Grave Contributors creating memorials for our area. I have no family ties with any memorials in my Bexar county cemeteries. I don't want to be a name collector - I just want everyone to be remembered. If you would like a memorial transferred to you, please let me know.
I will also remove a photo per request of a family member. Again
my intent is to honor the memory of the person.

Note: Any photo I have posted on Find a Grave is intended to be used.... Please feel free to use them in personal use and documentation of your love ones. You have my permission.

RE: Manuel Pacheco
Sorry. I was confused also. No. There were no markings at all on the cross.

Hi,
You are most welcome for the photos!
I am on vacation here in Kauai and decided to do a little Find a Grave "work" as part of my relaxation!
Since you seemed to be the person who had posted most, if not all, of the memorials in this cemetery, but had also been the person requesting photos, I wondered if you had posted the memorials from cemetery records, or what. I tried to photograph every grave, but some were real challenges (overgrown vegetation, sun angle and illlegability, mostly). And there are graves I photographed that did not have existing memorials, either. And they were not necessarily newer graves. Those will have to wait until I return to frozen Minnesota, before they get posted I fear. Doing all this on a laptop is trickier than at home!
Happy Valentines Day!

Duplicate memorial
Just wanted to let you know that there are two memorials for Mable J Savage, yours with a phot and link to her spouse, and #67384090 which has an obit, but no photo or links. The creator of the other page appears to have passed on. I'm not sure how you merge two pages, but you might look into this one.

RE: Jere Mann photo request

Hi there:

I visited the marker at Y, 1236 and confirmed that Jere McKay Mann and Louise E Mann share the plot. They are on the same marker, Jere on the front and Louise on the back.

On your other records, could there be confusion with Louise and Louis's name - they only differ by the "e" at the end….

Would you please remove your photo request from GGNC? I would like to prevent another Find A Grave volunteer from going out to the marker….

Thank you!

Tom

RE: Jere Mann photo request

Now I understand your question that the Find A Grave memorials for Louis and Louise Mann are 3604286 and 3604287.

This fact has no genealogical significance. It doesn't mean they were related. Back in 2000 when their memorials were created the data was uploaded into Find-A-Grave in one large database that was sorted alphabetically. Louise and Louis just happened to be in alphabetical order, so the memorial for Louis was created just before the one for Louise. That's all. They are not related.

RE: Jere Mann photo request

Sorry Edward, I should have looked at your request more closely.

I've done some digging in the National Gravesite Locator

http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/index.html

MANN, LOUISE E
DATE OF BIRTH: 03/20/1901
DATE OF DEATH: 11/03/1961
BURIED AT: SECTION Y SITE 1326
GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL CEMETERY
1300 SNEATH LANE SAN BRUNO, CA 94066

WIFE OF MANN, JERE M

Note that Louise is listed as the wife of Jere M. Mann.

MANN, JERE MC KAY

DATE OF BIRTH: 01/27/1900
DATE OF DEATH: 02/13/1982
BURIED AT: SECTION Y SITE 1326
1300 SNEATH LANE SAN BRUNO, CA 94066
(650) 589-7737

Note that Jere and Louise share the same plot in Section Y…

MANN, LOUIS J

DATE OF BIRTH: 04/19/1893
DATE OF DEATH: 04/25/1965
BURIED AT: SECTION J SITE 1114
GOLDEN GATE NATIONAL CEMETERY

There is no obvious connection between Louis and Louise and Jere. Louis is buried in Section J, which are far apart. They are on the opposite side of the cemetery from Section Y…. Am I missing the problem?

I can run out to the plot for Louise and Jere but I think you already have your answer that they were married….

Let me know.

Tom

Jere Mann photo request

Hi Edward:

There is already a photo of Jere's marker in GGNC so I'm not sure why you requested another. Is there a problem with the existing photo?

RE: Manns at Golden Gate
If you look at the headstone photo for Louise in Find A Grave, the plot number is engraved at the top of the marker Y 1326. Thus this is the back side of marker Y1326. If Y 1326 is the correct marker for Jere, then Louise is his wife, which also corresponds to the VA records. The reason why the Find A Grave records are one number apart is that this was a batch upload from the VA on the same date. Since Louis and Louise would be next to each other on an alphabetical listing, the record numbers are one number apart. I can confirm this next time I'm at GGNC, but in this case I agree with the VA and Louise and Jere are spouses and Louis is not.
